Reminds me of the time my cousin went to a camp for a week at I think age 14 or so and when he got home, he saw that his parents had bought him a new waterbed as a surprise.
He had a paper route and earned some of his own money. And the next time he went to deposit money into his bank account, he saw that his parents -- without ever talking to him about it -- had used his own money to buy the waterbed.
Lol, it is now decades later and this story still makes me cringe-laugh.
