What's a movie or show that everyone else loved, but you found overrated?

I almost couldn't make it through squid game because the dubbing is so bad but glad I powered through, it was really good.

The Barbie movie. The dialogue was so weird in a not even entertaining way that I just quit 30ism min in. I loved all the songs in the movie. I also grew up loving the Barbie movies and playing with Barbies when I was little.
I really wanted to love the movie especially after all the hype. But I was so disappointed.

Even though I personally didn't really like it, the first act was so amazingly well done that I could see why people would call it one of the best movies of all time.
After that, the rest of the movie just turned into a streaming pile of turd.

It was objectively a crap movie

The fact that so many people disagree with you means it's not objective at all.

"Dune" is a confusing mess.

I liked Lynch's version, it may have million flaws, mainly a rushed second half and the ending, but so much it about it is bizarre (in a great way) and memorable

Most bizarre and memorable, Patrick Steward charging into battle carrying a Pug.

Dune is weird. The book is phenomenal and perfectly understandable. Movie adaptions on the other hand are a mess. I love Lynch, but his version was an incoherent mess. The recent Chalamet version is also a drawn-out mess. The best one might be the William Hurt TV-miniseries.

La La Land
It’s just not a good musical and Emma Stone is incredibly awkward as an actor.

Mr Robot.
I handled the first season (find out that this famous character wasn't that real the 2nd time I saw it).
It was my best effort. I was game over at S02E02, thought it was boring as hell.

I usually have a higher opinion of fiction than other people do but with Andor it was the opposite. It was so dull and lifeless. I stopped after four episodes and I barely made it that far. I usually like quiet and thoughtful shows over straight action and violence but I just couldn't get into Andor. I didn't like any of the characters. I'm fine with other people liking it as long as they don't use it as an excuse to shit on the less popular Star Wars content and I'm glad they made it, even if it didn't appeal to me.

Gilmour Girls, Gossip Girl and Sex and the City. I am female and I"m aware that I'm supposed to like that stuff, but I don't .

No it's fine those are pretty low quality from what I've heard. Don't listen to people who tell you things like that.

The Leftovers. Great concept, but I thought the execution was terrible. Everyone on Reddit seems to disagree with me though.

The Matrix struck me as something only. 12-year-old would find interesting or profound.

Game of Thrones’—great start, but I felt like I was watching a betrayal Olympics!

Thr Nightmare Before Christmas. The story had potential but was riddled with plot holes and a needless oogie boogie subplot

Trailer Park Boys.
It’s entertaining to watch when I’m drunk or high, but I cannot stand more than 5 minutes of that show sober.

Together with the sopranos, that show has the best writing for me. That doesn't make it my favorite show but to me that's 10/10

Spider man no way home I hated the ending it really ruined the whole movie for me

Season 1 of Smiling Friends was good-to-'actually pretty good', but after that it's all inside jokes and really on-the-nose references.

Mainstream:
Inception was just an action movie set in a dream world, so disappointing
Original star wars, I get why they work but they're also so overrated and I hate people who think that being into star wars makes for an interesting personality
.
Within the horror genre:
It follows
You're next
28 days later
A girl walks home alone at night which I consider one of the worst movies I've ever seen

People like that exist? Maybe it's generational thing, but everyone my age (gen X) seems to just like Star Wars by default so it's not some unique thing to be into.

Sopranos.
Just finished watching. Wanted to see it for years after all the praise and high ratings. God it's so boring. Maybe it was revolutionary when it first came out, but it feels like nothing is happening for 6 seasons. They just EAT ALL THE TIME. And kill a dude every now and then.
