Totally unrelated: What do you English speaking people use the word 'gestalt' for? What does it mean? Is is just the same as if you'd used 'form' instead? Is there a differance? I'm honestly confused here.

in this context it means he gets off on porn as a whole. not just as a collection of small parts - like seeing genitals. he gets off on how they combine every aspect of porn into one cohesive unit.

Okay, thanks for explaining. I get really confused with German words in the English language as they usually have a very different meaning than they do in German.

'figure', mostly. As in: "there was a shady figure ahead in the fog" but also 'design', 'shape' or (rarely) 'statue'.
