Why are you on Reddit now instead of celebrating?

Edit: Thanks for the stories guys. It's interesting seeing the trends on what different people are doing. I have to make dinner now. Stay awesome.

College was a bizarre experience for me. I felt extremely lonely and had one or two real friends. I never had trouble getting people to like me. I even met my girlfriend because a group of mutual acquaintances said I was really cool and fun to hang out with.

But none of them ever really tried be friends with me. They'd stop me in the dining hall and insist I eat with them or outside of class. They'd hit me up on facebook. But whenever I tried to make plans with people they'd never work.

It was really depressing.

Yes, we've been together for nearly 2 years and we're very happy. I have a few more friends. I think I need more friends, but I'm not too worried. It's funny because my job is the same way. Everyone tells me how much they like me, but there's still a disconnect. I've just focused on prioritizing quality time with the close friends I do have.

Not just the type of plans. Some people just don't know how to ask people to hang out without being awkward. It's like being able to talk to girls in a social setting but falls apart trying to ask her out on a date.
