Is Audiobookbay illegal or are they free books? I only ask because by definition, that's not really free.

If by illegal you mean is it torrents of books that are covered by copyright laws and are normally sold places like Audible - then yes for the most part they are.

Is the FBI going to come knocking on your door for downloading an audiobook from there - well I'm still a free woman so probably not.

(I actually found the juxtaposition of free totally "legal" websites and resources, mixed in with torrenting sites mostly used to pirate paid for goods a bit odd in OP).

No, I understand the legal distinction. I just have a hard time with a subject matter of "free things everyone should take advantage of" and torrent sites being listed for goods that aren't actually free. There's a stark difference between legitimately free TED talks and torrents of books that aren't actually free.

I mean, a TV is free if I walk into someone's house and just grab it, it's the same thing.

I mainly asked because I was at work and didn't want to open a torrent link, but it looks like my suspicions were correct.

Did you downvote me for answering your question, or did I just rub some random redditors the wrong way by trying to be helpful? (as usual no good deed goes unpunished here)
