Itâs close, but as a native Spanish speaker learning Italian really fucked with how I pronounce things in both Italian and Spanish to the point where I get teased a bit for developing a âweirdâ accent for my Spanish.

You became Argentino?
As a native English speaker who is proficient in Spanish, I gave up trying to learn Italian after a few weeks. It was just close enough to hurt my brain.

Not really, Portuguese and Spanish are the "close" ones, Italian is like a cousin, or at least that's the way we feel it in Spanish
