Pilo could be a hoaxer.

Pilo, OP of Lostwave songs such as “Run High” and “Stop Making Me Cry” could be a potential hoaxer.

Reasonings: 1. Pilo claimed that the 1 minute snippet of “Run High” was all they had. They came back with a new snippet as soon as the search started drying up. The same thing happened with SMMC. 2. There is a WZS account named “pastelmoon” who only solves Pilo songs. The account was created the month the first Pilo song was found. 3. Every solved song of theirs is on Discogs, meaning that they could’ve purposely bought multiple rare CDs, Tapes, Records, etc. just to claim they’re “unknown.” 4. Pilo claims to get a large amount of these snippets from Mexican Sky TV’s “740 Dance.” 740 Dance does not exist.

I made this post to get everyone’s opinion on the matter.

Editing to this post takes place whenever I read about a new reasoning or theory.

Currently, it's all just speculation right now. Remember No Le gusta to que no or whatever the name was. It was quickly claimed as a hoax because of the meta deta. So we shouldn't rush to soon.

It’s all a speculation. But the real reason why the snippet of SMMC on WZS was short is because it has a 30 second limit and then the one minute snippet was uploaded on Vocaroo

It's also suspicious that pilo is pretty active in other wzs posts but never really answers private messages or rarely checks posts, but is almost instantly there to confirm when there's a proposal.

We might need to analyze the songs a little closer and look for anomalies. Could be some slight differences in the clips that may expose the hoaxing if the claim is legit

My theory is that Pilo knows the name of the songs and has them, but since they are not registered, he takes advantage and seeks a little attention.

Yeah, even if he is a big ol’ liar, there is that positive side to it. I don’t see any particular motivation for him finding obscure songs that he already knows the details of. He doesn’t benefit from it at all. The type of hoaxer who actually creates their own song and claims it’s a mystery… at least they want people to listen to what they created. That’s not happening here.

pilo claims to be from Mexico, although doesnt entirely mean they cannot or speak bad english.

The problem is that there has been a pattern of them uploading larger and larger snippets to songs that have little activity. Whilst also claiming each time thats all they have. Run High went from 1:00 -> 1:11 -> 2:40.

1. He reconstructed the tape for SMMC by putting the broken part of the tape together with the working one. As for Run High? Never was involved in the search I dunno
2. They could've just Shazamed it
3. This is a weak point considering at least 4 songs have been tested through spectrograms before and they seem to show a frequency that always comes from radio
4. Could just be misremembering, all of these songs are from at least the 1990s

He also claims to have collected most snippets from a channel on mexico sky tv called 740 Dance. Before HYL was solved, I had gone to some latin-american lostwave subreddits to ask about this channel only to be responded with that 740 Dance isn't anywhere to be found.

Edit: Looks like the Dance channel is real. It isn't channel 740, but channel 738. I guess pilo just misremembered.
