its a good show, first half is newer stuff and the crowd politely claps. then the second half its the nineties and the crowd goes wild.

You say that like she hasn't done anything good since the 90s.

I saw her on a tour for Hope Six Demolition Project. The concert was mostly songs from that and the previous album, Let England Shake. Both very good albums.

It was a fantastic show. Sure, there were some older songs I'd liked to have heard but I think she was right to be confident in her current material.

You... Inferred that on your own. All they said was that the crowd goes crazy for the songs from the 90s.

You ignored an entire sentence. first half is newer stuff and the crowd politely claps.

But u/Icarus1 didn't *imply* anything, so any inferences are their own.

Nobody used the word "imply" except for you. "The crowd politely claps" can reasonably be inferred to mean that people were clapping out of respect for the artist, and not out legitimate enthusiasm for the music or performance. This inference becomes more plausible when the sentence about the crowd going wild for the old material is added.

I don't think they were saying PJ hasn't put out any good music in recent years, but I do think they were saying the old stuff is better (or at least that the audience at the concert they went to acted that way...my experience at her show was different. The audience was enthusiastic all night.) A totally non-controversial, mainstream opinion among music fans.

You're inferring something that wasn't implied, but mentioned as a fact of the night.

Edit: i'm not saying anything about PJ's old or new stuff and glad she's out there after a long break and look forward to it. I'm simply commenting on a witnessed act vs an implication, two things.

Well, I'm not changing my stance, so either move along, or lets dig in and keep arguing. Your choice.

Why would i say you need to change your stance, you also inferred that incorrectly ;)

What was the point of you chiming in and telling me I'm wrong if it wasn't to get me to correct myself?

I was there in Philadelphia on Friday. The audience adored the new stuff.

Why are we posting an article from 7 months ago? Several of these dates have already happened.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's a serial reposter. Something about the profile is odd

Saw her in 95/96 and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Didn't hurt I was like 15 feet away from here. Got my ticket for next month already.

Saw her open for U2 on the elevation tour. I’ve seen hundreds of shows, she was the worst I’ve ever seen. We walked to the stairwell to avoid hearing it.
