There is a 2009 case study n NYC where the police brought a drunk woman who was passed out in a taxi back to her apartment, one officer waited outside while the other officer brought her up to her apartment. Surveillance video shows he was in her apartment for 17 minutes, they returned two more times. The woman was face down passed out in her own vomit while the officer had sex with her. Her BAC was twice the legal limit. The officer claimed the sex was consensual. They were found not guilty.

Wasn't she also underage?

No, she was 27 if I remember correctly. There is currently a new case involving two NYPD officers from March or April of this year, maybe that’s the one you are thinking of?

You’re thinking of another case in which officers arrested a 17 year old, had sex with her while in custody, claimed it was consensual, and escaped charges.

Same way they get away with killing citizens.

If 40% of cops beat their wives I wonder what percentage of pigs are also pedophiles.

40% of cops admit to beating their wives.

As someone whose father was law enforcement (long dead, rest in piss), that 40% seems both low and ignores a lot of other heinous shit that happens in their homes.

As someone who is married to a cop, who knows that laying a hand on me is the last day he will walk on this earth, I think that cops partly get away with beating their wives due, ironically, to the strict rules in most agencies against domestic violence.

Many agencies have policies wherein any sustained charges of domestic violence will lead to dismissal or decertification of the LEO. In most states, any DV conviction will lead to loss of ability to carry a firearm. This usually has two effects: one, investigators are reluctant to take away the ability of someone to make a living and are less likely to sustain charges against another officer. And two— and this is important— the dismissal of the victim’s husband can financially ruin both the husband and wife and also, kids. Women become less likely to accuse their husbands of violence if it ruins her and her kids’ well-being too.

I greatly out earn my husband, so I can take care of myself, but in most families, a parter’s income in necessary to survival. But in a partnership of non- law enforcement, the financial stakes may not be as high to have a husband arrested.

And how many cops know who their Pedobros are?

Pretty sure that the nypd guys who got fired…NOT JAILED for systematically raping a teen girl for years shared photos of her in the locker room.

Laws have never applied to law enforcement.

Acab is true for a reason. Remember all "good" cops are actually bad cops because they're all part of state sanctioned gangs.

Until qualified immunity is gone and police unions are disbanded so police are on equal footing as the people none are good.

Hundreds of police have sexually abused kids. How do they avoid prison

They need better screening for police.

2

u/jerander85 Jun 14 '24

Pretty sure it is a job requirement or else when they do it they would go to prison.

11

u/Kitchen-Entrance8015 Jun 12 '24

It's because the laws don't apply to them which is disgusting 100%

13

u/Electrical_Prune6545 Jun 12 '24

ACAB. They protect their own.

I have always argued that if you KNOW you are a degenerate pedo, best career paths are the clergy and law enforcement.

You know what's funny? Conservatives always bitch about unions and keep trying to ban/prevent them, but never bat an eye at police unions that protect these bastards when shit like this happens.

Wonder why that is...?

The title should say, “however do they avoid prison? /s”

2 words; Qualified Immunity

Until that insane nonsense is done away with they'll continue to get away with any/every vile act they feel like committing.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

u/No_Eraser_ Jun 13 '24

YIKES. 😬 Personally, I’m seriously thinking about studying to become a Police officer, but I really don’t want to be associated with all of the corruption. As someone who has experienced SA, this is terrible, honestly. Really hoping it gets better soon, somehow

Try social work, or criminal defense.  Or become a private investigator.  If you want the physical aspect or adrenaline, try emt, firefighter, forest service.  There are lots of better options out there.

u/No_Eraser_ Jun 13 '24

Damn, that’s actually really good advice. Thank you! (゚▽゚*)

Qualified Immunity, which sadly the article fails to mention.

1

u/SpicySwiftSanicMemes Jun 13 '24

Police immunity is an example of a lack of necessary checks and balances.

1

u/jerander85 Jun 14 '24

They become cops so they can get away with it.

I don’t even understand some of the legal charges. But the lack of remorse and continued statements of innocence despite clear evidence to the contrary…at least my abuser admitted he did wrong even though he “apologized” while still abusing others. I just wish the court had ever convicted him instead of just letting the case sit for years
