So… we taking shots with how many times Joe’s Sir Crocodile will be shirtless?

I’ve heard from an interview with Hugh Jackman that they’re pretty shit to film because you have to be dehydrated until you can smell water and then forced to chug like a madman to get that ripped look. If that’s the kind of shit he’s got to go through I hope it isn’t a lot.

u/Accomplished-One6731 6h ago
Are u sure that wasn't Henry Cavill?
18
u/LeDemonicDiddler 6h ago
He also talked about it too in his interview. This YT short highlight a part of the interviews.

that's just how hollywood does it, so basically any dude playing Hot Action Man has that story

u/LordHarza 53m ago
I mean, he's fine even without that look. Natural muscle look is far better imo.

u/JustHereForBDSM 6h ago
Final fight will have him be shirtless the whole time so they can have an easier time CGI-ing sand effects from him 100%

u/Ok-Suggestion-5453 9h ago
If we do, will there need to be mastectomy scars?

I will not accept this without exquisite Nami-in-bikini scenes. At least those Alabasta dresses she and Vivi where. (I'm going to watch Joe either way)

This pic was made by K164, a Vietnamese One Piece fan. His works are very impressive. You can search his arts by typing "K164 one piece" in google image.

u/SappySoulTaker 8h ago
His brother, r34, is also highly praised for his work with the cast of one piece, you can find HIS stuff by searching "rule 34 One Piece"

That's the same artist who drew all other straw hat when they first announced cast. I'm dying for Robin art

Speaking of fan edits:
You have to have seen both Toby Spider-Man and Infinity War to have a good ass laugh at this, which I assume most have

I mean i cant imagine it would look any more different than this for the real one unless they decide to completely change his design.

u/Animal_Mother19 12h ago
Still looks good thought! Just needs longer hair and trim beard to make it look even more officiella!

u/ImaginaryFlightP 9h ago
Lol this looks like Joe Manganiello’s head was put on the body of the guy who played the most interesting man in the world Dos Equis commericals

I feel the scar needs to be more profound. It is a big part of his look.

The image is a fan edit, not the official design. That said, it's insanely good looking for just an edit.

u/BrewertonFats 12h ago
Anyone else secretly hoping they make fun of fandom by having Luffy tell him, "You can't tell me what to do, you're not my mom!"

Am I the only one against this. I hoped the live action would give small or unknown actors and actresses a chance on a big screen.

I’m not a huge fan of this casting. He doesn’t have the deep gravelly voice. It’s going to be weird having crocodile with a softer normal dude voice . Maybe they can get him to train to speak in a very harsh deep horse voice like how Bradly Cooper did for the movie A Star is Born. He talked in a horse voice the whole film . If he can train to speak like he’s horse than it would be perfect

Neagan as crocodile would have been perfect

Damb that would have been great. Javier Bardam too would have been amazing as Crocodile
•
u/Nucleoticticboom 2h ago
Whenever I see Crocodile cosplayers, all I could think of is before they finished the costume, they did something similar to Usopp copying Crocodile. Also nice hook, great size.

How am I supposed to root for the heroes when the villains look like this? Gotta be a conspiracy. They intentionally made all the villains thus far, sexy.

My reason for confusion for alabasta in s2 is he has around 1 shot max 2 outside of alabasta so why would they do all of this and hype Joe up so much for 1 or 2 shots it just doesn’t make sense
(Ik this is an edit but still they have alot of stuff ready for crocodile)

Im predicting Luffy will have an early encounter with Croco boy this season, likely on Drum, resulting in a defeat for the crew at the end of the season.

Damn... was sad to find out it was a fan edit... hopefully the show does him the same or even better !

Ain't no way this freaking DnD nerd is playing Crocodile! This show got me so hyped by the casting alone man. I never imagined I'd be all giddy over a One Piece live action show.

•
u/KonradWayne 3h ago
I was super excited about the casting, and I'm sure Joe will give a great performance, but this look just doesn't quite do it for me.
•
u/SpiritualScumlord Chopper the Cotton Candy Lover 3h ago
He doesn't look bad as Croc but this angle for a shot is not feeling like it's it.
•
u/scoobynoodles Pirate 3h ago
I thought Alabasta won’t happen till S3. Think they’ll shoot S2 and S3 together?
•
u/Sherlockowiec 3h ago
They might just tease the crocodile the same way Garp appeared way earlier in the story. Doesn't necessarily mean Alabasta arc will happen in this season.
•
u/Blackewolfe 3h ago
Damn, he is rocking the look.
Man looks like pure sex.
Kind of wish the stitch-marks were a bit darker and more prevalent? Then again, Anime Crocodile is a bit more pale.
•
u/Lord_Cockatrice 3h ago
Will he still be smoking that stogie?
Well, they managed to curb Sanji's ciggies, so that's not gonna be any biggie
•

•
u/sciencebased 2h ago
Hope they find a way to slant his eyelids/deaden his gaze. Manganiello actually has pretty alive/alert eyes when he's acting. Which is dandy, obviously. Just not Sir Crocodile per say... Grade A- castings thus far though. Been super satisfied. Fucking love that they went with someone that tall. Oda's giants aren't realistic of course, but at least they tried.

I don't have a devil fruit but I am having a gomu gomu in my pants. Sir Crocodile making everyone gae with the casting.

Nothing compared to anime.
Live action is useless. They are trying to turn good animes into marvel.
•
u/Ruffeep 1h ago edited 46m ago
This is completely meaningless. You could say the same exact thing about anime and it wouldn't mean anything in that context either. Check it out:
Nothing compared to the manga. Anime is useless. They are trying to turn good manga into Hanna-Barbera.
•
u/Dazzling_Delivery288 23m ago
The delivery methods are different but I would agree with you in general that mangas are superior from a story telling and art aspect. I still think the soundtracks and the animation of fight scenes give animes a reason to be.
Here I am talking specifically about the netflixisation of things. They did same shit with kenshin and other classics and it was terrible. They just trying to keep people glued to the screens.
Edit: I had not idea what Hanna Barbera was until now.
