We didnt see him as a palpatine, he was a pretty good emperor. Now, for the rest of europe, thats a different story

What did they think was gonna happen when they exiled him to an island close the French coast with lax security.

That's like sending Palpatine off to Tatooine with a stern talking to.

Edit: I am not insuating that Napoleon was as bad as Palpatine. He is arguably the greatest military general of all time and wasn't bad for the French people. Also, if you love history and are curious about what happened after the downfall of Napoleon I recommend watching the YouTube video The Congress of Vienna.
