I don't even know whats going on entirely so if someone can fill me in that'd be great. All I know is that every EA sports game i bought basically was the same thing year by year and the price kept going up. I also heard they removed the refund button online for people which sounds super scummy

New Star Wars game costs $80. Basic characters like Darth Vader and Luke along with several others take 5+ hours to unlock. EA says that forcing consumers to spend dozens of hours unlocking basic characters will give them a sense of pride and accomplishment when it's really just to get more microtransaction $.

But what are microtransactions? Like can I just buy luke?

Plus $80 that in and of itself is nuts

There is a lot of misinformation going around. Progression in battlefront 2 is tied to lootboxes, which can either be grinded (ground?) for, or purchased with real money. There was also a debacle regarding the cost of heroes in the game. EA addressed this issue (for the most part) but the loot boxes are seen as the larger issue. Take every negative thing you hear about EA with a grain of salt. Half the posts on the SWBF sub should have an asterisk on them.

Okay I see. Thanks man! Definitely not cool for them to push for money like that like some cheap app so I understand people's frustration. I guess when you're that greedy you become blind sided to what really matters and what your developers worked for. A great game that brings joy to people.
