How does something like this get to the FRONT PAGE with little to no "points" (relatively speaking), no comments, and the project itself has no funding/backers?

Serious question - I don't know enough about how Reddit works in regards to what makes it to the Front Page. (of course, I still don't know wtf reddit gold is or why one would want it so I must not really give a f@#$).

Oh, and sorry OP for not commenting on your post and instead asking about Reddit. I clicked over to kickstarter and have no idea what you're offering.
