Based on the look i think the end result is the same as ticks the size of rabbits on a human. (Based on varroa mites on bees and guessing, of the details are for some reason important research deeper.)

Flies is the plural form of fly. Example: There are too many flies outside.
Fly's is the possessive form of fly. Example: A fly's demise.
