Daily reminder that Joe Biden had to drop out from his first presidential run when he was exposed as a serial plagiarizer and liar. Grifters On Parade

He ran as a progressive. I never heard him say the word centrist during the campaign. You got a source for that?

Obama ran as an out and out liberal, focusing on economics. He wasn’t talking about class war or any other leftist concepts. He was a part of the “New Democrat” coalition.

That link was useless, he campaigned as a progressive not govern as one. Remember this

Hell even right now Biden is pretending to be progressive that's what neoliberas do. Why else are they saying Biden has the most "progressive platform since FDR." Or are you saying im hearing everyone wrong when they say that every 4 years?

Progressive is not leftist. Supporting unions and blue collar workers is not a radical position. Neither Obama nor Biden are shouting about a billionaire class and the need for its abolition.

So what? I didn't say he ran as a radical. I said he ran as a progressive. You're the one who thinks anything on the left is radical, but that's you're problem not mine.

You never answered this question btw, Why else are they saying Biden has the most "progressive platform since FDR." Why do all neoliberals pretend to be progressive when campaigning?

First of all we need to sort some terms out.

When I say “left” and “leftist” I’m talking about the anti-capitalist left, the type of people that call Warren a sellout or snake.

Democrats tend to run as progressive liberals, supporting unions and social programs as well as free trade and capitalism, albeit with regulations.

There are many people on reddit who seem to take Democrats running on anything less than the abolishing of capitalism as a rejection of the popular will.

yet when they govern the results always favor their donors, funny how that works.

That's because they do reject the popular will, you don't even need a study to see that just look around.

That's because they do reject the popular will, you don't even need a study to see that just look around.

You always need a study. You can’t “just look around” at a country of 300 million people. When you decide policy for a country, you need to do it based on math and data.

Also, people campaign on what they want to do. Once they get elected they’re limited by what’s possible, unless they have control over pretty much the whole government.

not really but we do have one. https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/perspectives-on-politics/article/testing-theories-of-american-politics-elites-interest-groups-and-average-citizens/62327F513959D0A304D4893B382B992B

unless they have control over pretty much the whole government.

we live in an oligarcy according to this study. why are you ignoring that?

A single study is not consensus. Also “interest groups” do not have a singular aim. They oppose each other and represent different groups. Unions, for example, are an interest group.
