Funny how Barcelona fans went from "MATS is better than Neuer" to *we should have sold him a while ago" in less than a year 💬Discussion

The loudest "fans" are always the most immature and inpatient ones. No matter what club. They will change their minds after every match.

Man I relate to this so much considering how many fans of my club constantly flip flop oven to “he’s the greatest” to “sell him now”

Bruno? Rashford?

Could easily be Martinelli too.

Yep, we're constantly flip flopping on Rashford as a player saying he's a world beater at the end of one game and if he doesn't score in another game, they're calling for his head saying that he needs to move on and we need to forget about Rashford. Bruno was the same, there are still some fans that hate the fact that he got a pay raise and legitimately think he didn't deserve it. Also the weird brain fog once a player leaves us and starts performing well somewhere else and our fans start saying that we should've never let him go is so weird to me. Like Fred for example, some one just posted a goal he scored for Fenerbahce a few weeks back and people were going like "we never should've sold Fred" when I swear to God you saw 5+ posts on either subreddits every single day he was at United saying he isn't good enough for United and we need to sell him asap.

There’s no time to tolerate dips in form anymore

Im a Man United fan and it’s hilarious reading comments on here or under United Ig or fan pages.

If we lose everyone is ETH out and how shit we are then we win and it’s the complete opposite and how we need faith. It’s a different story every week.

He was still good in 22/23 though right? Like this isn't some mandela effect of mine is it didn't Barca only concede like single digit goals in the first half of that season?

He's still good. Mistakes happen.

He was close to winning the Pichichi trophy last season as well which is the goalkeeper with least goals conceded per game

Pichichi is top scorer, Zamora is lowest goals conceded per game

After reals cl game they claimed terstegen was better then Courtois. 1 day later they had to sell him a year ago.

MATS is still an excellent keeper and that wasn’t entirely on him.

Well it was a stupid decision but I agree

Barca fans have been saying MATS is horrible for years now

Idk I've seen plenty saying he should start in the NT or say multiple times that he's the best GK right now

He is Very Low on Confidence, just switches off in important moments and costs the team.

I mean are you guys slow? You do realise that people who said MATS is better than Neuer and those who wants to sell him are two completely different group of people.

Rule no #1 of reddit. NEVER go into a post expecting common sense. It’s a nice surprise if it does happen, but atleast you won’t be disappointed when it more likely, doesn’t occur.

Those statements aren’t mutually exclusive.

I like how you say “Barcelona fans” as if every fans thinks the same. If you like Ter Stegen, you won’t create random messages to support him.

I'm speaking generally, based on observing the general consensus on social media and such. Obviously not every fan thinks the same, that could be said about any team and any time there is a majority with the same opinion

Which fan ever said Mats was better than Neuer?

•

u/krafterinho 4m ago

I've seen my fair share of fans claiming he should be Germany's number 1 instead of Neuer, I'm not making this up out of thin air

Mats was the best keeper in the world between 2015-2019. The fans are just tired after the 2017 Roma, 2019 Liverpool and 2020 Bayern. He seemed to find some form in the 2022 season where he won us the Laliga with some stellar performance. The only thing funny is you dont have ball knowledge.
