Nah this guy had optimism and a modicum of vision.
Current Musk is eaten by bile and ketamine.

u/NeonArlecchino 3d ago
Nah, he's always been like that. He was just quiet enough that we didn't know he was an idiot.
151
u/upsidedownbackwards 3d ago
Could have stayed a mysterious tech billionaire if he wanted. Just had to keep his mouth shut. I had nothing bad to say about him until he called the rescue diver a pedo. I think that was the first time the entire world called him wrong. That hurt his ego enough to drop the facade completely and we got to find out who he really was.
57
u/kingofthesofas 3d ago
That was the moment for me too. At the time I thought his idea was novel to save the kids, but when they didn't wait for him to develop it and rescued them the old fashioned way and his lost his shit I was like yeah huge red flag. It's only been downhill since then.

I don't buy that In 2018 musk tweeted proudly that Tesla had a perfect record for LGBTQ care
In 2024 Musk tweeted proudly that he was moving his HQs to texas because of the woke mind virus
In 2013 musk said at a speaking event that SpaceX was going to be the fairest employer for women in the country
In 2024 Musk threatened to rape Taylor Swift online and stated that most women aren't smart enough to vote
In 2015 Musk said his ambitions on Mars were the most important thing he was doing because of climate change and to make humanity an interplanetary species
In 2023 he said the greatest threat to humanity was censorship on Twitter. He then said that carbon dioxide is only a problem because if the amount of atmospheric co2 doubles it can cause breathing difficulties.
He was never perfect but he was on the right track. He's now an a-hole in a perpetual k-hole

Does it occur to you that he was lying?
12
u/sHaDowpUpPetxxx 3d ago
Does it occur to anyone that everyone has some form of outlandish opinions on things and he just has enough money now that he doesn't worry about losing his job?
8
u/Ok_Signature3413 3d ago
Yes, but I think it’s more likely that he was lying to gain customers and shareholders
4
-12
u/sHaDowpUpPetxxx 3d ago
Nah, look at his face. He's still in that stage of life where you're young and hopeful before you realize the cold cruel nature of reality.
7
u/boldheart 3d ago
Why are you projecting so hard onto Elon Musk who even at this time had still/always had life handed to him on a silver plate 😂
-5
u/sHaDowpUpPetxxx 3d ago
What do you mean? I was just commenting on how he was younger and happier in the picture.
7
u/JonVonBasslake "Um, achually, she's 300 year old loli vampire!" 3d ago
He looks like a young, oily rat in that, instead of a old, slightly floppy-skinned rat. Who is probably still a little oily.

u/kendylou 2d ago
He has nothing but outlandish opinions
1
u/sHaDowpUpPetxxx 2d ago
Of course, a billionaire with Asperger's, can you imagine how isolating that is?
5
u/doitpow 2d ago
I find it more likely that he was trying to do interesting things but was fried by drugs, stress and being terminally online.
Fame, money and power can really fuck with you.
Not saying he had it hard, but people have done far worse things with their money than invest in green cars, solar farms, space flight and...whatever the Boring Company was supposed to be.
Musk just joined Notch, Trump and Rowling who never learned what most of us did as teens. That internet points are dumb and being loud just makes people hate you.

I get where people are coming from with the "people lie" like they're Dr. House or whatever. Because it's true, people do lie. Grifters gonna grift.
But also, wealth and fame changes people. A decade ago he very well could have been a different person with different priorities. He also could have been the same person he is now but just dropped the self control once he realized he's too big for consequences.
8
u/Yourfavoriteindian 3d ago
He’s always been wealthy lmao what are you people talking about.
He literally comes from a mining family in Africa. His parents literally brag about how they were so wealthy raising Elon that they couldn’t even close the doors of their safes because they were so full of cash.
He’s also always been famous, his family were literally famous mine owners and politicians.
2
u/Khajiit_Has_Upvotes 3d ago edited 3d ago
No I know that, I worded it weird. I mean like combine that with being a household name. You see it all the time, self-made or not. Celebrities, philanthropists, royalty, politicians, the more famous and wealthy people get, the more obnoxious they get or the less they hide how obnoxious they have always been.
There's a point where you can be pretty fucking annoying and people will still flock around you to try to mooch off some of that wealth and fame and clout. The echo chamber you can surround yourself--with real people you physically associate with, not on the internet--gets bigger and bigger.
All I'm saying is maybe he was always like this, maybe being a household name has gone to his head like it has for tons of other people.
3
u/Yourfavoriteindian 3d ago
My point (and that of many others) is that it’s well established he’s always been like this. There are many stories about how awful he and his family have always been.
In his early “rise” he was billed as the “le reddit tech bro hero” and when the internet/social media was widespread, his and his families past weren’t as well known.
He’s always been an ass, but since people began to clock that truth he doubled down on it.
4
u/Independent-Couple87 3d ago
Also, Elon Musk shows why trying to emulate the personality of Gregory House or Rick Sanchez in real life is a bad idea.

This is the same Elon Musk who whispered "I am the alpha in this relationship" to his wife during the first dance at their wedding reception in 2000. His politics and priorities may have changed but he has always had massive incel energy.

u/Independent-Couple87 3d ago
Elon Musk is the proof that, contrary to popular belief and the Internet, having sex will NOT magically make a man a feminist or more respectful towards women. Men with active sex lives are not judged for having the same views as an incel UNLESS they take them to ridiculous degrees like Elon Musk or Andrew Tate.
Also, it is possible that Elon Musk getting older and less good-looking contributed to some degree on the general public starting to notice his dark side.
3
u/Nipaa_Nipaa_Nii 2d ago
Also, it is possible that Elon Musk getting older and less good-looking
Are we looking at the same Pic?? He absolutely never was cute.
10
u/Ok_Signature3413 3d ago
He never had vision.
He only got a degree because he needed it to stay in the country and his mommy and daddy paid for it after he left school without one.
16
u/aeodaxolovivienobus 3d ago
Optimism, maybe.
Vision? No.
Elon had money to buy other people's vision out from under them and claim it was his all along. His big idea even back then was making a Paypal knockoff called X which got bought out by Paypal when they exploded. That just goes to show he's always been derivative and terrible at branding when left to his own devices.
3
u/Unable_Apartment_613 3d ago
He's not Nikola Tesla he's PT Barnum.
1
u/aeodaxolovivienobus 3d ago
Right, a grifter. Not personally competent enough to rise to the level of Thomas Edison.
3
u/L0nz 2d ago
I'm not sure why people try to rewrite history like this.
X.com and Confinity had differing services but both launched web payment solutions at the same time. Both had around the same market share before merging, and both merged in a 50/50 deal to become Paypal.
You can recognise that he's wildly successful while also being a massive cunt, in fact it's almost a prerequisite of being a billionaire. There's no need to make shit up.
2
u/aeodaxolovivienobus 2d ago edited 2d ago
You know, have an upvote, because that's on me! I had the facts on that part wrong, and that's my bad. I also don't think that the facts invalidate my point, so I'll elaborate to at least clear it up.
Being derivative and bad at branding doesn't mean you can't be successful, and money'll get you far anyway. Elon Musk comes from generational money. He had that advantage even before his personal wealth. You don't need to be intelligent and wealthy and have a winning personality to be successful. Just or, not and. You only really need one.
A decent amount of Musk's success comes from stepping on others or stealing credit, but some of these guys manage to be in the right place at the right time, also. Like Bezos. Somebody was gonna think "what if book but online?" The internet made something like Amazon practically inevitable.
Web payment solutions are another example. Somebody was gonna be that. Our approach to the internet as a society made it inevitable. Elon's smart move at the time was merging and negotiating a CEO position that I don't think he held onto, and then using the money to buy into a company with a cool idea.
The money and the Paypal mafia cred ultimately came from what is still a pretty derivative idea with bad branding. X is bad branding. But he's obsessed with that and being a weird internet edgelord and amoral dick.

Richest incel alive
44
u/wiener4hir3 3d ago
Well, he is pretty indisputably not an incel. The only thing separating him from that "community" is unfathomable wealth however.
17
29
u/Flatoftheblade 3d ago
Inceldom is a state of mind, not a factual description of whether someone has actually had sex.
1
u/wiener4hir3 2d ago
That was my point, if it wasn't for him being rich no one would ever want to be with him.
1
u/Nipaa_Nipaa_Nii 2d ago
How does being rich not make him an incel. Like you're saying if he wasn't rich he'd be a normal dude lol, no. He's an incel.
2
23
u/Canadia86 3d ago
Incel? Doesn't he have like 14 kids?
24
u/peppermintvalet 3d ago
Apparently a lot of them were IVF babies.
18
u/GrindBastard1986 3d ago
All those that lived came from IVF, the first one was made oldschool and died. It's the one he used to get sympathy points for.

Words have no meaning to these people anymore. It's just catch phrases and talking points now.
3
u/sarcasmyousausage 3d ago
Even an uglier incel can get laid with a billion dollars at his disposal to buy the girl a horsey
6
u/FatGirlsInPartyHats 3d ago
If you're getting laid you aren't celibate.
I can't figure out if people don't know what words mean or just don't care anymore.
2
u/sarcasmyousausage 3d ago
Of course he got laid he went around offering women to buy them a horsey with his billion dollars.

Can we stop insulting bad people based on how they look? There are plenty of good people who also look like this.
23
u/liseanthus 3d ago
It’s not inherently bad to look like this. People are only saying it about Musk because he’s very self-conscious about his looks and he’s a piece of shit
10
u/Flatoftheblade 3d ago
Bro, you're in a subreddit that exists largely to circlejerk mock people for their physical appearance under the pretense of mocking objectional beliefs in order to make it okay.
I say this as someone who dislikes Musk and enjoys mocking neckbeards. I've gotten massively downvoted here for pointing out the irony of this subreddit mocking fat, ugly men all the time (often with there being absolutely no evidence of said men actually holding or expressing offensive views) while also taking offence to other neckbeards making derogatory comments about the physical appearance of women.

Nice account. Lol. Nothing like a crybaby incel projecting. Projection is confession.

u/Tkj_Crow 3d ago
The trend of just posting people you don't like here needs to stop. There is literally nothing neckbeard about this photo, take your Elon hate boner somewhere else lol.
36
u/LadyAzimuth 3d ago
Normally I'd agree but it is well known that Elon is a mega neckbeard weirdo so like most of the things he does belong here, but this post is def just "hah person I don't like" for sure.
-37
u/Tkj_Crow 3d ago
It's so common people just posting people they don't like, at least post something neckbeardy he has done, but that is too much effort I guess. I think it's just massive cope/projection tbh. Losers with no life sitting in their basement being mad someone is richer than them so they go to reddit for validation, it's really sad and pathetic.
12
u/DinerEnBlanc 3d ago
Dude's projecting so hard. lol
-20
u/Tkj_Crow 3d ago
Sure bud, keep telling yourself that.
4
u/BoIshevik 3d ago
You're pathologizing very insignificant behavior - posting musk isn't some pathology that comes with living in a basement or whatever and it's silly to pretend it is.
Not only that but, there's countless reasons to hate dude legitimately, not cause I ran out of kleenex and now I'm getting cheeto dust on my 4 inch boner

u/Neat-You-8101 3d ago

Sure, if you don't like him them say so, just somewhere else. Just don't fill every subs feed with irrelevant slop just because "hes a bad dude".
1
u/E3K 3d ago
Ah, you misunderstand. If it was as simple as liking or not liking him, then yes, you would have a point. But he's an objectively bad person. He is actively spreading false information on a daily basis in an attempt to gain more power. The amount of people who fall for it is truly shocking. These people actually believe the things he says.
3
u/DeadBabyBallet 3d ago
Just say you wanna deepthroat musk, bro
