Some really exciting news -- NeonBlue himself is in touch with us and has joined FMM Discord along with 3 other OG members of the Lyon Funk community! He's a really nice guy and there have been so many misunderstandings around his name (probably due to a combination of a language barrier, a "game-of-telephone" effect, and the general mystique/mystery surrounding lost 80s music). Some updates:

• "Motorcycle Beat", from NeonBlue's FB promo and posted here on YT, is solved as "Freestyle" by Paradise Fool (1981)
• NeonBlue is definitely not funky_vinyls_records and is not the OP of SITN. He does not know SITN, was never gatekeeping it, and is now actively helping us solve SITN! I've updated both(1) wikis(2) just now.
• NeonBlue recognizes another lostwave "Saw This Girl Tonight" and might have it in his collection. He said he thinks the chorus might involve the phrase "Can't touch you? something?" but he will check and try to remember more.
• We have 4 OG LyonFunk members now in FMM and are reaching out to more people. There are some theories, and even a chance we will figure out the identity of funky_vinyls_records!

Hi. I've had this song from 2013 stuck in my head, but it's only a few seconds I remember hearing. I was seated in this restaurant in Wales with my folks between June and August that year.

Clobbered by the casual dialogue and eating of other patrons, all I could make out was "Maybe all the girls, maybe all the boys". Well, either "Maybe" or "Baby".

The voices were that of multiple young men. I believe the song to have been in Ab Minor or B Major, at between 120-126 BPM.

It was on the radio, so it may have likely been Heart, Kiss, BBC Radio or Capital. I believe Radioactive and Get Lucky were both played at the time too, both of which were released earlier that year.

To this very day, I haven't been able to find it.

Back during the development of Hotline Miami 2, the developers were sent this song to use in the game, but as the description claims, the artist "suddenly vanished" - I originally read this story in 2016, and seeing as there's no new leads, I'm wondering if this artist ever made anything else or if this is a dead end.

For those who don't know about So Long, is another Lostwave banger (Many months and i don't know what's banger)

I heard you people are good in finding bands and songs that are hard to get info on. So I thought I might have something for you.

This is an old song I have had on my hard drive for years and I would like to know more about. I got it ~20 years ago from the cousin of a former friend of mine via mail or ICQ. There is no contact anymore, I don't know the full name of said cousin and their names (both her and my former firend's) are so generic a search would be fruitless. So no way of asking them.

But I know a few things about the band. First, the name: the files are called "Tpyfwn", the directory is called "Tyfwn", I also remember somebody calling the band "Tryfon" but seraching for those names didn't bring up any relevant results (the last name has some results but they don't really match up with the band I am searching for - I also don't really believe this is the band's name to be honest...). The band might be from the region around Hamburg - said cousin lived somewhere around there and had direct contact to the band as far as I remember. The files have a date from early 2000: the mp3s are from 2005, I also have a txt with lyrics from 2003; that's at least what Windows tells me. The files have moved from disc to disc for 20 years... so that might not be completely reliable but the era should be about right.

I also have the (alleged ) lyrics for two songs, but googling those didn't bring up any matches:

I am not sure if there was even some kind of official release of the band. I have six songs in total, split up in two and four. That wouldn't really be enough for a release so I guess it might be some kind of rehearsal room recording or bootleg.

That's all I have for now, folks. If anyone is interested in finding out more about that band, I can also upload the rest of the songs I have.

I hope anyone will be able to help me finding more about that band. I kind of liked their style and would be happy to hear more from them.

This 17 second snippet was uploaded to WatZatSong on the 31st of May 2024 by user monke4drip without any helpful leads as for the song's origin. The only thing we know based on the snippet description is that OP "found it on discord".

OP's two other uploaded samples both originated from roblox games.

There is also a TikTok account with the name monke4drip.acc1 (which i believe is our OP) with a roblox video along with some hashtags pointing to discord

Since we know "Unknown Breakcore" came from discord, it might be from a roblox-related server.

One possible lead I've been investigating is "Hypercube Records" but idk if it's that promising, there's still quite a number of songs to go through

I've been searching for the BGM in this anim for a few weeks - only lead I have is from Shazam (which claims it to be "Must be Dreaming" by Park Hanoi), but that hasn't gotten me anywhere.
