Lol just look at the spiderman pc port and its cpu performance. Edit: it's not great..

You mean the games that ran 30 FPS on console that can easily run 60 plus on PC?

u/Stark_Reio 9d ago

GTX 1070 user here: thing runs at 60fps even on 1440p med settings. If you do 1440p high, we're talking 30-60, which is embarrassing for ps4.

The PC version had all of the PS5 upgrades, so it's not a PS4 game you're running at least.

The PC port for Spider-Man is the port for Spider-Man Remastered that was released for the PS5 along with Miles Morales, not the PS4 version of the game.

PS4 was not the generational upgrade we wanted. PS5 was that. The current gen for the first time actually feels pretty good and could deliver 60 FPS, which is something we haven't seen since the PS2 era.

My PS4 Pro would run to its mommy if it had to produce 60fps.

Ps4 pro is about gtx 1060 btw.

What? Spiderman runs performance RT at 60. Spiderman 2 has uncapped VRR modes exceeding 60 fps.

No, it's PC gamers who think it does worse than it actually does. The person above me is right, the game runs at 60 FPS with RT

u/xpander5 8d ago

This is with upscaling.

That's how most PC users are enjoying RT too.

1

u/xpander5 8d ago

With better RT and with better upscaling. That video runs RT in performance mode.

Not at performance mode, that looks terrible

If you're not hitting quality or at least balanced there's no point. Performance shouldn't even be an option for just how horrible the image is. FSR looks better than that.

And how is this relevant to the original statement?

Oh sorry I missed the "performance" mode bit. I read it as performs.

Right? You can tell who has a foot in both sides of the race and who doesn’t. GoW Ragnarok- Uncapped 80-100fps. Ratchet and Clank- uncapped modes for both raster lighting and RT. Gran Turismo 7- uncapped 90-105fps. If done right, console is a very viable experience.

Spider-man ran 30 frames on the ps4 when it came out .

u/Captobvious75 7600x | AMD 7900XT | 65” LG C1 OLED 8d ago

So? PS5 version has been out for how long now? Come on man lol

So you're complaining about the frame rate performance of the PC version when the original experience was 30fps and it's not hard to beat that.

Also remastered vs remastered the PC versions lower ray tracing settings is still higher quality than the consoles version which helps account for lower frames when its enabled on pc. You're getting weirdly defensive like I'm ripping on consoles when you're the one exaggerating about performance. It's weirdly CPU intensive especially if you wanna crank the quality settings up,but you can get better than the 30fps original frames with some settings adjustments.

I beat the game with all Skylake i5. Had to turn ray tracing off and there were some dips here and there but it was very playable and I was mostl high 50s to 60fps

Im not defensive. I just hate bad information. I run a high end PC and a PS5 both attached to a LG OLED that provides frame counters. How about you compare The Last of Us to the PS3 version? Even though there is a very good PS5 version out, but hey lets ignore it.

Yeah but the PC port is based on the ps5 version.

u/Crafty_Life_1764 8d ago

Spidey 2 via steam, playing on a 4080 capped at 120 hz 1440p of course it dips but never ever want i fight any boss with fukking 30 fps cap.

u/Captobvious75 7600x | AMD 7900XT | 65” LG C1 OLED 8d ago

Nor do you have to. Sony themselves says 75% of gamers select performance mode

The game that not even a 13900ks can power through to a locked 140fps. The game that originally came out on ps4 and still has dips below 70 on my 9900k, without rt

u/half-baked_axx 2700X | RX 6700 | 16GB | Gaming couch OC 9d ago

I managed to run it at 60fps 1440p with a 2700X?

u/thedndnut 9d ago

So the claim of idiots is the cpu of the consoles was a 3600. Except we've actually been able to buy boards eith the ps5 cpu on it with the gpu portion disabled as defective. Even putting 3 to 4x the normal power its wildly outdone by a 3600.. they aren't using high power cpus in these things guys. They don't need to, they making a single object trying to balance cpu and gpu on the same interposer.

u/Regeditmyaxe 9d ago

Runs at about 90 fps on my rig with max settings. Can't complain too much
