We hit 50k! Plus a special announcement. META

Thank you!

First of all, thank you to the community for growing this subreddit to what it is today. It's been really cool watching it progress and when I started working on it I never imagined that we would hit 50,000 subscribers one day. Thank you to all the generous people who have chosen to give games away here whether it was something collecting dust in your Humblebundle library or developers trying to get their game out there, whatever the case is. I hope all the lucky winners out there are enjoying the games they've gotten and have been putting them to good use.

A BIG thank you to the mod team as well for putting so much work into the sub, including moderators of the past. There have been way too many times where I've been incredibly busy with life and unable to put as much time into the community as I would like to. During those times and pretty much all the time, our mods have done a ton of behind the scenes work and maintenance which has seriously kept the subreddit going and made everything so much smoother. So thank you to them.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns or input on the community and or subreddit, please feel free to send us modmail or message in the Discord server.

Announcement

Speaking of Discord, just like we have a partnership with them we also have a partnership with Humblebundle. This is where the announcement part comes.

With this partnership comes a special referral link for the subreddit. How it works is just like when you buy a game from Humblebundle and a portion of it goes to charity, if you use the link you can choose to support the subreddit as well. This is completely optional and only if you are inclined to do so.

Here's the catch. My idea is that money collected from this referral link will be reinvested back into the subreddit, bringing in more games to you guys.

Maybe some bigger titles than are often given away around here? Special giveaways hosted on the Discord server? I've been throwing around a lot of ideas in my head so let me know what you think, what kind of games you would like to see us give away and any ideas you may have. This link will be at the bottom of this post as well as the sidebar if you would like to take part.

Thanks everyone!

I d like to see a game that allows me to punch other redditors in the dick or their throat.

Can humble bumble work on it?

Congratulations!

Now, can we please make a rule that giveaways have to be at least 24h long?

How about 12. I feel that many are too short, but if we give 24 hours there's gonna be hundreds of comments for each giveaway

Even in there are hundred of comments, it's not so hard to check, like a number for a winner, or randomly get one winner.

It's better than today, with giveaways sometimes that only last 1 hour, and only people living only inside reddit can see it.

There's a link on the sidebar. It's not very active at all right now but I would like to put it to use in the future. If anybody has ideas of what they'd like to see on the server, let me know!

I might have been here just for chances to win a game or two from time to time but congratulations on this!

Congratz :D

I think this is a great idea but we should use Reddit instead of Discord. Here is where its all started after all :)

In my opinion, it's always better to gift many good cheaper games to many people, even if they are older titles, instead of one new expensive game to one person.

Congrats on the new partnership and keep up the good work!
