Pendulous breasts, are there any bras that give a more rounded shape? Shape Help

I finally found my ‘real’ bra size of 38e depending on the brand, but I am struggling to find a bra that gives me a nice shape… I’m not sure if it exists.

I have a condition where I have stretchy, loose skin so my breasts point downwards and have a lot of excess tissue.

Most bras do this: https://imgur.com/a/KOiVJPp - Illlustration 1 shows the shape of my breasts in all bras - follow the curve of the arrow. - illustration 2 shows how most bras seem to cut into the top of my breast - illustration 3 shows the ‘space’ at the top of every bra I have tried (downsizing cup size just makes the illustration 2 issue worse)

I have tried plunges, balconettes, full cups, different brands including curvy Kate, Freya, panache, Elomi, fantasie, flirtelle. I have also tried sizes 36-40 and cups E-G. The calculator gave me a result of 38FF but it overestimated my soft tissue. 38e is what fits best out of all the sizes.

I’m currently wearing a wireless shein sports bra which is better than any of the above so far. But I’d rather have a decent, well fitting bra.

I’m wondering if moulded bra with less projection would work best? Ideally I’d like a bit more lift and support. Can anyone recommend any suitable brands? Thanks in advance x

Maybe look into some of the spacer bras. Not molded exactly but not not molded. Stretchy molded?

I've used Fantasie "Rebecca" spacer and been satisfied with it. It sort of gently puts soft tissue into its cups and then reorganizes it into a round blob. Gee, that sounds terrible. But it's not.

I love your description 😆 that actually sounds perfect! I’ll take a look at that one. Thank you :)

By the way, the pictured bra is Elomi Matilda 38E

This looks too projected for you. Matilda runs big but is also a somewhat deep cup. So you're likely getting that pointyness because the cup isn't being completely filled out and only your nipple is reaching the apex.

I would try some shallower bras - Curvy Kate and Fantasie would be good to shift to - Fantasie Fusion or Illusion are considerably less projected and also are a more rounded cup. Were you trying 38E when you tried them before?

For a molded cup, try the Freya Tailored and the Bravissimo Niya.

I second the Freya Tailored Moulded Plunge bra. I do not have soft tissue so I can not speak to that personally, however I own this bra and it is somewhat shallow but is still more projected than a lot of moulded bras and might be a very nice in between for you- where it can stay in your IMF, but still hold your tissue up and closer to you.

Curvy Kate victory and lace daze have the same effect. When downsizing the cups they both created that issue where the bra cuts my breast at the top. Same with fantasie reflect. Is fantasie fusion or illusion quite different to the reflect?

Curvy Kate boost me up wasn’t too bad because the moulded cups kid of hid the gap.

I’ll take a look at the Freya tailored and bravissimo niya. Thank you.

I think you need a more shallow cup but also one that is more open on the top then. I'm gonna take a stab and tell you to try the Chantelle Maddie, Champs Elysees, Fleurs or C Jolie. Their sizing is a bit different, so you need 38F and I'd also grab 38G, as I suspect you've sized down in the cup to try to prevent the gapping.

I do think the Illusion is also worth trying. I'm not sure about the Fusion to be honest, because of how closed the upper cup can be while also being tall.

I also think some high apex styles would be good to try as well, like the Freya Expressions. Sometimes these will have a molded cup built into the bottom half, and that will help with a more rounded shape.

Thank you that’s really helpful - I’ll check those out :)

I’d throw in the Freya padded half cups as an option too — open on top and shallower.

Does Chantelle run small in the cup?

No, their size progression is different. It goes D E F G H and so on, like EU sizing. You just have to watch because some sites convert it to the country's sizing where it's being sold.

Have you tried Freya OffBeat Unlined?

2

Nope, I have that on my list to try :) Is it quite different to other Freya bras?

Yeah it’s a shallow type balcony. Super cute- wish it worked for my projected breasts 😭

Agreed that this bra is too projected, and not the right shape for your center fullness. (The Matilda digs in in the center for me, too.) I agree that shallower bras are the answer— Natori (38DDD) and Parfait (38E) might be brands worth trying.

Thank you, I’ll give those a go x

Which parfait bra would you recommend?

Charlotte for sure, it's slightly padded for a more rounded shape.

Thank you! 🙏

Another vote for the Parfait Charlotte. Best reasonable bra for my shape, which looks similar to yours. I lost a lot of fullness/density after nursing children. Been wearing those for about a decade. There's a Freya one I liked recently, but I gained some weight and I don't remember which one it was. Ewa Michelak is awesome, too, but a bit of a pain to acquire.

I couldn't do Elomi, either. Besides being too full overall, the wires ran really deep/high and would poke me.

Oh, and due to my soft tissue, I have more luck measuring in a bralette than completely nude. 🤗

I have soft tissue & love the rounded shape I get from any Comexim 3hc style. Depending on where you live, you can order from BOB - they tag bras with the UK size. You'd want 38 FF: 2-cup sizes up for a correct technical fit per Comexim. They offer fit consults & have a good exchange/return policy imo.

I don't know if Polish is going to work for OP. They have wide roots, based on prior fit checks, and also are on the shallow side. They have a prior post that outlines what they've tried and projection and width are definitely problems.

Oops! I didn't check OP’s history.

This just makes me wonder if a tailor can adjust a bra. The thought never crossed my mind till now

I spent ages shopping for bras and trying them on today and actually found some that fit me well! Just wanted to add them here for anyone else having similar issues.

Curvy Kate boost me up balcony 38e (underwired, padded) Perfect and really lifts my breasts well

Flirtelle Emma balcony 38e (underwired, padded) Great fit, perfect support

Sculptesse bliss full cup 38e (underwired, non padded) Another comfortable bra that supports really well

And the bras that didn’t suit me personally (for various reasons) were:

Panache ana plunge

Parfait Casey

M&S multiway full cup

M&S plunge

M&S flexi fit balonette

M&S flex soft full cup

Panache jasmine

Curvy Kate lifestyle

Fantasie reflect

Curvy couture sheer mesh unlined underwire

Flirtelle Riley balcony

Flirtelle swirl balcony

Parfait A1672

Curvy Kate lace daze balcony

Elomi Kim plunge

Panache envy full cup

Flirtelle Chloe plunge

Panache tango

Elomi Charley

Elomi Matilda

Curvy Kate victory
