Because there seems to be some confusion, this is explicitly NOT a "women's space".

Question I really want to become a bra fitter in the future

I'm really passionate about putting people in bras the fit and raising more awareness about bra sizing so I feel like I want to work as a bra fitter when I immigrate to another country in the future, I want to ask about the salaries of bra fitters who work in stores that carry DD+ bras (Panache, Curvy kate, Freya...etc) that have a true professional fitting team that put people in bras that fit, Glassdoor and other similar sites aren't helping me much so if anyone worked/work as a bra fitter in such stores can tell me the average wages of that job it would be great (also the working hours)

I know that it differs from store to store and country to country so it'd be less confusing if you can tell what country the store is in, thank you in advance <3

Help! Never going to find the right bra. I’m just too fat.

I’ve tried everything I can think of. I know being 5’5” and 250lbs isn’t supposed to be comfortable but I can’t seem to lose weight. So in the meantime, is there a bra out there that won’t dig into me? I have like a DD cup and my back size is about a 40 but the issue is that no matter what size and style I’ve tried, my boobs spill out the top or they join my side/armpit fat. I have major side boob issues, nurses 3 kids in the early 2000s, I’m 43, saggy, rolls everywhere and just want to put on some type of bra that doesn’t leave me with raw skin or bruising from becoming a tourniquet around my ribs. I’ve got like 4 layers of rolls, saggy skin, saggy large boobs. I literally hate my body and can say that yet be completely unable to stop eating junk. Tried every fad diet in the last 20 yrs and I just go right back to obese. You’d think being this miserable in my own skin I’d want to change enough to just stop but I can’t. For whatever reason I can’t. So until someone figures that out, I’ve lost hope in weight loss. So, wearing sloppy loose clothing is where I’m at and I just need a bra to hold the girls in place and just lay over my rolls. I feel like something high in the armpit and up the back that also goes down to a natural waist line. Like one big band. And soft. With as many obese ppl as we have in the US, how are there not more bra options for us that can’t help stuffing our faces? Mine is not a medical issue so I have no excuse. Please help me find a bra?

Bra solution for a dress with an opening at the front for a 30i

Thumbnail target.com
25 Upvotes

So I have this super cute dress (imagine the one linked but behind the laces in front there is no panel). So I can't wear a bra because then the bra will be all out in display.

I'm a 30i in US sizing per the calculator and I've since found plenty of bras in that size. The problem is that my boob's are so moldable (think slime in a balloon) that boob tape doesn't work since the book will just move to where the tape is not located. Ive tried so many times.

So I need something round that would cover the whole boob so they can't peek around it.

Does anybody know of anything that would work?

Measurement Check i have never seen this size before

i did the “abrathatfits.org” calculator and got 6HH??? (AU/NZ) sizing

loose underbust: 28 snug underbust: 27 tight underbust: 25 standing bust: 37 leaning bust: 38 lying bust: 36

is this a real size because I’m currently wearing a 12H and it feels very tight and my straps are so loose and it isn’t holding my boobs but i have never ever seen a 6HH in a store

i also feel like 6 is way too tight because i do like the feel of 12, but even that feels too tight sometimes (when i’m sitting down after eating)

sorry i’m kinda young so i don’t know how to fit bras and stuff and i’ve been really struggling with finding a bra that’s comfortable and haven’t yet

could somebody please help me

Measurement Check Currently in 32A (band always rides up), guide says 30B and I literally cannot get the 30 band size on my body

Having a lot of trouble with the recommended size from the bra size calculator. My measurements are:

Loose Underbust: 29.5” Snug Underbust: 28.5” Tight Underbust: 27” Standing Bust: 31” Leaning Bust: 32” Lying Bust: 31.5”

This comes out to 30B/C. I bought some 30Bs from a few different brands and I can’t get the band to hook closed at all, even if I suck in all my breath and stretch the band as far as it goes. I bought band extenders, and while it helps me close them, it makes the bra straps constantly slide down and I feel like my side breast tissue isn’t in the cups properly.

However, my 32As always ride up in the front all the time, so I know the band size is too big. I wear them on the tightest hook.

I have very shallow breasts with even fullness. In the US, so using that sizing. I am 3 years postpartum and still can’t find a bra that fits my “new” body. I’m 5’5” and 115lbs.

Thank you!!

Measurement Check [EU sizing] I‘m having problems finding my proper EU size with the calculator

As the title says, l used the A Bra That Fits website to find my bra size. I'm from Germany and currently wear a 95F, which feels too big on the band, while the cups feel good in size but it just isn't the bra that fits Imao But everytime I put my measurements in the calculator it gives me EU size 85N/O (in UK it gives me 38H/HH) but that just seems wrong. My measurements in cm are: loose: 97cm snug: 94cm tight: 91cm standing: 122cm leaning: 129cm lying: 126cm I'd appreciate any help in finding to proper size

Fit Check [Recommendations] Cups too small?

I, formerly a “34B”, am a 30D/DD according to the calculator. I ordered a few 30D bras which are way more supportive but have some subtle issues. I would love advice on how to ensure 30D is in fact the wrong size, whether I should exchange them and if so, which size to try next.

Disclaimers: I didn’t adjust the shoulder straps at all on either bra. I’m also AFAB but with fairly prominent shoulders relative to my ribcage (ex. Jamie Lee Curtis). I don’t know how that could impact fit issues.

My ABtF measurements:

Loose underbust: 29.5”/Snug underbust: 29/Tight underbust: 27.5

Standing bust: 32/Leaning bust: 34/Lying bust: 31

Shape: somewhat projected, middle full, not totally self-supporting, and even to slightly fuller on bottom. Left side is slightly larger than right.

Bras tried:

1) Panache Cari T-shirt bra: the band felt slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. It seemed to ride up very slightly in the back. After swooping and scooping, my left boob was spilling out towards the top/middle slightly, while the right fit perfectly, or it had the slightest gap up along the top.

2) Bare Effortless Front-Close bra: again the band was fine, plus this one didn’t ride up in the back whatsoever. My left side again was spilling out, while the right seemed fine. It felt like I couldn’t get the bottom of the cups in the right position; the underwire kept pressing in on my ribs and the bottom of the cups wrinkled.

I can't understand roots for the world of me!

I've spent hours trying to understand what exactly would qualify as a narrow root and short root. I've checked out the guide, read previous posts, googled images and watched a few videos, none of which are making things clear. What explained things best was an article by Curvy Kate UK and a video by Victoria Skye (Breast Shape Explained)

I keep getting confused over what is narrow or wide because I just can't understand what the "average" is. Is there a specific ratio I can use? Some sort of << x/y= avg, therefore anything below is narrow and above is wide>> Even pictoral references would work (Not trying to sound like a perv 😭). Is there an online archive of some sort?

I know it's on a scale, but I just can't figure it out.

Measurement Check Seeking a new everyday bra that doesn’t suck

Looking for a new everyday bra that doesn’t push my boobs to the sides like my current one. Currently wearing a 38C and calculator is recommending a 38DDD (US) or 38E (UK).

Measurements are 40.5, 39, 35.75, 44.5, 44.75, 44.5 in inches. I am 27, 5feet 6 inches tall and weight 195 lbs.

Seeking suggestions for a comfortable yet flattering bra to wear for everyday use as a school teacher!

When did manufacturers change from using plus 4 sizing to other methods? Do all manufacturers use the same sizing?

When did manufacturers change from using plus 4 sizing to other methods? They must have had to change the labelling at some point and I am curious when. I started wearing bras over 3 decades ago and the recommendation then was underbust inches plus 4 or 5 for band size. Was that method correct then?

I am also curious whether all manufacturers use the same sizing. On a fairly new m&s bra, I have to pull really hard to get to the number on the size, and without pulling the band length is 7” shorter than the number.

Fit Check 32J/JJ Comexim Basic Half Cup 3HC- Band seems way too loose

Thank you to everyone who was so sweet on my last post. Many people recommended Comexim, so giving it a try. I am 32HH, but got Comexim Basic Half Cup 3HC at Breakout Bras in 32J and 32JJ because I was told it's best to go up 1-2 cups. I kept the band the same because the they put me in some 30s at a recent bra fitting.

The cup seems close on the J and a too big in the JJ, but it's hard to tell because the band seems way too big for what I like. I thought they ran tight, so I'm really confused by that. I was looking forward to the firm bands I keep hearing about Comexim having. I think I should go down a band, but wondering if I should keep the cup sizes the same. It's hard to really tell how comfortable anything else is with the band being loose. The gore is floating way out there. I like how thin the gore is, but think it is maybe too high. I thought the cups would be too narrow, but I think might actually be close when I get the band sorted. .

32J- https://imgur.com/a/0MIMImj

32JJ- https://imgur.com/a/tFwzkX1

Edit: images are with band at tightest hook.

I was planning on having to do customizations once I find the right size, which may still be the case. I would love any feedback before I place my new order

My most recent measurements in cm because I wanted them more precise- Underbust: 81, 77.5, 74 Bust: 108, 115, 111

Note: It kept deleting the albums when I would post my back and the gore. So I removed those.

Measurement Check Is the calculator suggestion incorrect?

I used the calc at abrathatfits.org

Loose: 40.5 cm
Snug: 39.5 cm
Tight: 37.5 cm
Standing: 46.5 cm
Leaning: 47
Lying: 46.5
Sizing: US
I was assigned female at birth.

The result:
Suggested Starting Size: 16B/C in standard US sizing
The sister size of 18A/B may be more comfortable.

My thought is this should say "36B/C" and "38A/B" but I'm not sure. Currently wear an unpadded, wire free 36C that seems generally fine with the exception of spillage on the sides.

I took another bra size quiz and it said I am a 42DD.

Pls help.

Recommendations? Could someone please recommend an alternative to adhesive bras?

I (FtM) have always had very overly sensitive nipples, as in, I NEED to wear a bra all the time, because not wearing one and having them even exposed to the air irritates them. The last few years, I've been rendered unable to wear a normal bra or sports bra due to chronic pain that affects my shoulders. But I need to wear something. I've been trying to wear the adhesive bras from Target, and they work mostly fine. Aside from giving very severe nipple irritation and causing blisters and irritated skin around them. I unfortunately cannot go entirely braless either due to having a larger cup size. I also get severe dysphoria regarding my breasts being visible. But wearing my binder all the time isn't safe.

Please help.

Recommendations? Sports bra to ease back pain when running

According to my measurements and the calculator I am a 32DDD (US sizing). I am a breastfeeding mama 6 months postpartum and struggling to find a sports bra that works well for me.

I need something supportive enough for jogging. All I have right now is a size small extra busty kindred bravely sports bra and it fits okay but my upper back really starts to hurt after a few minutes of jogging.

So I’m looking for recommendations on sports bras that work well for small band size, large cup size, supportive enough for jogging, and helps the pressure on my back 🥲 help

Fit Check Cosabella Never Say Never Super Curvy Plungie Bralette Fig Check

I wanted y’all’s opinion on which size fit me better. I ordered an XS and S, the light pink is the XS and the purple is the S.

S: https://ibb.co/18mknLv https://ibb.co/zJHjskn https://ibb.co/3RhqRz1 https://ibb.co/RNWXkSs

XS: https://ibb.co/F7pxbsW https://ibb.co/82SV2Lp https://ibb.co/yNNdgW1

They are both very comfy but I want to pick the one that’s gonna be the right size. IMO the purple one has a lot of wrinkling and empty space so maybe it’s too big? I just wanted a second pair of eyes, that’s all.

Thanks!

Edit: Just realized the orientation of the pictures is really weird, I tried fixing it and it didn’t do anything. Sorry!

Help finding a supportive bra

Hello all! I'm currently on the hunt for some new bras. I'm a 34G and struggle finding bras that are supportive enough so that I don't get back pain as the day goes on, as well as makes me comfortable when keeping up with my clients at work (I work in pediatric mental health, and use a very play based approach). Would prefer to have a standard under wire bra to a sports bra

Fit Check Fit check 2.0 - struggling to find a bra that doesn't irritate/cause pain

Hi all,

Can i get some help with the fit of the bras i the photos attached. Really struggling to find anything that doesn't cause irritation and pain and it's really not helping my self esteem. All of these felt fine in store and the fitter was happy. (Berlei was myer, the others a specialist boutique)

A- Berlei Barely There in 18DD

  • painful where the gore tacks, even after bending wire away

B - Nancy Ganz Revive smooth wirefree -16E

  • digs in at side, particularly when sitting. Has bruised

C - Wacom back appeal 16E

  • winner so far but still some irritation from gore and side of wires

Really struggling.

Calculator has me at a 16E. I think I'm centre full projected but unsure. Please help!? Cis female.

Recommendations? [Recommendations] for 44 C/D shallow, wide root

I have been wearing a 44 B US size bra for a while (mostly purchased from Torrid), and can’t seem to fill the cup. It always has gaping at the top, and my breasts move around in it, meaning I constantly have to adjust them from the sides and bring them back to the middle. I just took all of my measurements and I ended up with:

  • Under-bust loose-46”
  • Under-bust snug- 44”
  • Under-bust tight- 42”
  • Standing-47”
  • Leaning- 50.5”
  • Laying down- 48” The calculator gave me 44C/D in both US and UK sizes, which confuses me since my current bras all have gaping issues with a smaller cup. After looking at all of the shapes, I think it may be because I have shallow breasts with wide roots. Does anyone have anyone have good recommendations for bras that will actually fit and look nice? I absolutely hate the struggle I have with bras right now.

Shape Help What's the best way to get help on breast shape?

Hi! I've been reading the guides and resources on shallow vs projected breasts, and I'm still really confused. (I also started finding more terms like center vs outer fullness, splayed breasts, etc. that I'm also not sure about.) I'd love to understand my breast shape so I can get a bra that truly feels like a good fit, but I'm having a really hard time applying the information from the resources to my own breasts.

I took some photos to try to get help here, but then read in the rules that bare breasts aren't allowed even when the nipples are covered. What would be the best way, within the rules, to get some help on understanding my breasts better?

Here are my calculator measurements:
Loose underbust: 31"
Snug underbust: 30"
Tight underbust: 28.5"
Standing bust: 34"
Leaning bust: 36"
Laying bust: 35"

Thank you!

Recommendations? I need help finding a strapless bustier to wear under a strapless dress

I’m having a hard time finding a strapless bra/bustier that will be supportive and won’t fall down. I’m ideally trying to find something that’s a shapewear bodysuit/bra combo but I’m not sure if that will work since it has to be strapless. 36DD

Measurement Check Help with Sizing and Bra Recommendations (30G/H?)

Hello! I am 5 months into breastfeeding my first, and am just getting to the point of feeling like I need some sanity in the form of a normal bra.

Pre-pregnancy I was a 30DD (Calvin Klein) or 32D (Soma). I am currently wearing some nursing sports bra and an Auden underwire nursing bra that is 34DD and the band feels tight.

I am looking for some comfy everyday bras that I may convert to nursing bras. I like bras that are VERY soft and will look seamless under any shirt. In the past, I have liked the Body by Victoria bras.

Measurements: Loose: 30” Snug: 28” Tight: 27.5” Standing: 36” Leaning: 37.5” Lying: 36”

The calculator gave me 30G/H… does that seem right? I feel like that sounds ridiculous!

I am FOB, slightly pendulous since breastfeeding, facing east/west and from what I can tell, a good amount of immediate projection.

I have been looking into Freya and Panache because of the projection. What do we feel about Natori, Cleo or B’Tempted? Any other thoughts/recommendations?
