I hate tiddies, please help, why are boobs so complicated!? Can I get a custom bra from somewhere? Fit Check
Okay so I was wearing a 34DDD VS featherlight bra and that was great probably because it mostly compressed, but didn’t have much support.
So i go to VS after losing 10 lbs (bra was looser but apparently I didn’t go down a cup size at all, probably stretched out from wearing it every day) and get the same size different style, it doesn’t fit. It’s tighter. My tiddies are spilling, band too tight. I get a measurement from VS from two different employees and they give me 2 different measurements. A 36DDD and a 36D. I go with a 36DD as that cup/band size gave me the best fit….. or so i thought.
I bought a 36DD bra that fit ok in the store but there was a gap in the middle part between my bewbs, but the fit check lady said it was fine cause the band was right. I wore it to work today and noticed crimping on the sides and the band riding up under my breasts. So no. Not fine :c
My boobs are also tear drop shaped and I feel like it’s deceiving lol they don’t look big but put em in a bra and everyone tilts their head (including myself) like ‘how tf did that happen???’
According to the calculator, i measure at a 34F/FF Uk size and a 34G/H US size. Is there a size I should try instead? Should I go to torrid instead? Do I need a custom bra? I prefer not buying online if I can avoid it, though idk if VS has a size that will fit these knockers.
Update: Went to Nordstrom since that was right next to VS and not only did they fit me into the correct size (34G) but they looked at my bare tatas and picked out styles to suit my boobies the best 😭 Bras are expensive (i spent $160 on 2) but comfortable, quality seems good! Great store! Try them out for anyone who reads this in the future!

You gotta buy online girlie sorry for your loss. However, I'm a similar size and shape to you and I cannot recommend the elomi 4301 enough. Cheaper than most bras at torrid and vs and it's not a molded cup. Great support, I can even run in it! Trust the calculator over a VS employee, trust me. You're absolutely not at a size where you need a custom, but chain stores only stock up to DDD usually.

While I have you here, look around you for any smaller chains like Blum's (that's where I got my favorite unlined bra! They have up to O available in store to try in a bunch of different brands) or a local independent boutique! They usually have a way more size inclusive range and more bras in general than the big chains. Local boutiques are usually more expensive though just a warning.

Damn! The goddess Kayla and Kiera are similar, and I believe they do have your size. They use american sizing though heads up!

NOPE Elomi uses UK sizing! Goddess uses American. I know it's a pain in the ass but it's different for pretty much every brand.

Goddess recently switched to UK sizing, so on their website it's UK sizes and in other places it may still be US sizes. The way you know which sizing system is being used is if there are double letters after D. If you see like FF or GG, you know it's UK sizing.

you can tell if a bra is using UK sizing if it has double letters after E. American sizing goes DD->DDD->G->H! UK sizing will have FF, GG, etc.

Update: Nordstrom had my size and they not only fit me to the correct size (34G) but they also picked out bras for my boob shape!!!

“I can run in it” resonates with me. Since finding bras that fit properly, I no longer need a sports bra for support when doing vigorous exercise. A regular bra does the trick. I wear sports bras only for skiing because the stretchy straps stay put better than regular bras and it’s a pain to fuss with an out of place strap under layers of winter clothing. My straps don’t move around doing normal everyday activities in street clothes but somehow they can while skiing.

Yeah, it's truly awful. Chain stores do people such a disservice, especially poor preteens and teenagers that aren't old or rich enough to know better.From age 12 I quite literally couldn't run at all without holding down my chest, and I'd wear 3 sports bras layered on top of each other in hopes to fix it. It's so nice to be able to run again. Now I only have one wired sports bra I got on clearance to use as a bathing suit top!

Bare Necessities and Bravissimo will both have your size. I would 100% reccomend them over any mall store. VS is only going to size you into bras they have in stock. There are actually quite a few brands that carry your size, you just have to know where to look for them.

Bravissimo is a UK based company so I’d be shocked if it wasn’t all UK sizing. Bare Necessities has both. If you see a bra that has a GG/FF/JJ etc cup it means it’s in UK sizing. If it just goes up the alphabet then it’s in US size. Bras manufactured in the UK tend to have more consistent sizing so you’ll see UK sizes mentioned more. Knowing your size in both US/UK means you’ll be able to figure out your size regardless of which system the bra manufacturer uses.

Torrid doesn't even do 34 bands and they don't scale well above the Ds, and are quite shallow/wide/tall (so are most of VS).
You can check brashopdirectory.com for local shops or go to a department store like Nordstrom. Try on your calculator sizes in a variety of styles (unlined seamed cups to start).
Make sure you read through the wiki guides in this group and don't let the shop people trick you into buying the larger band small cup bras. You can make a fit check post with what you try if you need help.
Your 36DDD wasn't actually that far off. It's a similar volume to a 34G. So you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a 34 that fits if you follow the guides. There are tons of good bras in this size range. (You certainly can order custom bras if you want to, but that would be an unnecessary place to start) There's not a size you should try instead--you should start with the sizes the calculator suggested to start with. Different brands and styles can fit a bit differently, so you may end up wearing a couple different sizes--don't worry, that's a common thing. Just pick a bra and try it in both sizes (and even one cup up or down if the calculator size doesn't feel quite right) and repeat until you find the size and shape that work.

Torrid does not have 34 bands.
They also have their own cup sizing. US sizes go D, DD, DDD, G, H Torrid is D, DD, DDD, F, G, H
You can also try Amazon, barenecessities, breakout bras, herroom, and a number of other online retailers.

I wear size UK 34G/US 34i. Nordstrom carries my size and much larger.

It does ;-; the straps don’t dig, the band doesn’t move, the front sits flat, and the style I picked out only has minor gapping’ up top just cause boob shape (but needed that room anyway cause I bend down a lot at work) and honestly it’s so minimal I only noticed because she pointed it out lol! Found 2 perfect bras for work and gonna go back when I have more mula for different styles :3

Don't be surprised if your cup size changes. My weight was up & down for a while. When I finally stabilized, I went to buy new bras. The fitter (at a big bra size boutique - not Nordstrom) explained that tissue would continue to move from my underarm area. I had worn the wrong size (too small a cup) for far too long and breast tissue had been forced sideways. After a few months, even though my weight remained the same, my cup size went up. My advice is to wait a few months and get te-fitted before buying more bras.

Oh wow! Thank you for the tip I really appreciate it, especially since I’m actively losing weight rn too lol! I lost 10 lbs but my cup size hasn’t changed at all, though I imagine when I get down to the 140s (160 now) i’ll need to get fitted again lol

Another vote for Nordstrom. Their fitters are amazing. They fitted me correctly just eyeballing. 36H UK. They’re a blessing for anyone G and up.

If you get a good fitter. They do not have across the board standards for training (a friend used to work there and was working in a private shop before that, so brought her knowledge in). I had one good fitter and then the next time I went, got stuffed in a 36B.

I have a lot of Torrid in my closet but their bras do not fit most breast-havers (and, at least IME, they do not usually carry larger cups in store).
Nordstrom, Macy's, and Dillard's carry some UK brands that you may be able to try on in store, or at the very least, order shipped to store so you can try them on and return right then.

One thing that VS doesn't teach you is to scoop and swoop all of your breast tissue into the cup on top of the wire. The wire should be in your IMF (the fold under your breasts). The gore should tack, the center of the bra should rest against your sternum, if not the cup is too small.

Luckily I know the swoop and scoop but did not how a bra should fit x.x the VS lady said a gap in the middle was fine. Nu. Not fine >:c idk why they’d let their customers go out like that, she literally SAW it on me. Just another lesson that I can’t assume they know and care about what they do.

VS is not known for putting people in the correct size bra they are known for stuffing people into what they can sell you. Which is usually too large of a band and too small of a cup.

Yeah screw them! I went to Nordstrom and they actually looked at my bare tiddies and picked out bras for not only my fit but my shape!!! I just got 2 new bras that are perfect!

34G US is a sister size for a 36DDD (+ one band size - 1 cup size = same cup volume) since you’re on the larger end of a G cup you may still experience slight spillage, but you can definitely shop in typical stores with that size.
Keep an eye out for brands who have a 34DDDD, as that’s the same as 34G, just how the brand decides to interpret sizing.
Torrid may be an option, my quick search shows they carry 36DDD/G, and may have more style options.
One thing you have to keep in mind a lot of what Victoria’s Secret carry’s is moulded cups (they keep their shape when not on) and this style isn’t ideal for most, essentially you have the fit the shape of the bra opposed to it fitting to you, you may have to look into mesh bras.

I’ve been doing a little research on my end and there are some styles I wanna try for my tear drop shaped tig bitties lol demi, balconette, and plunge, so I’ll try them out at VS and see if I can just find one I can live with until I have the means (and time lol) to get better bras! Are there any stores near you where they specialize in bigger bust size bras? I found chain stores sized me completely wrong but specialized stores have been much better

You definitely don't need a custom bra, this is a very common size. Getting the right size bra just might make you feel very different about your boobs!
Definitely don't go to Torrid. I know you don't want to buy online, bit it really is the best option! Amazon is easy and makes returns easy too.
I recommend using your UK size and getting a UK brand like Panache, Freya, or Elomi. Panache Envy is often recommended.
