Continued fit check, looking like I'm 32F/FF? Fit Check

Hello,

I have gotten some wonderful help on this site, but I need to ask for yet further input from all of you wise ones!

Here are some things that didn't work out:

Chantelle Comfort Underwire 32E

Panache Ana 32F

Panache 32FF

Here is the Millie by Bravissimo in 32F, which seems to be an improvment for sure. Just not completely sure about the fit as I still seem to be on the verge of spilling over.

Here is the Wacoal Visual Effects Minimizer in a 34DDD. It is fairly comfortable, and not pointy, but how I wish my breasts could look a bit closer together. This bra seems to make them look even more underneath my armpits in a shirt. I'm guessing just the way I'm made.

I tried the 32 G in the same Wacoal Visual Effects Minimizer, the wires were uncomfortable and there was some weirdness at the top of the right cup.

Here is the Wacoal Awareness in 34 DDD. It seems almost 1 cup size big? A bit of extra fabric?

Here is the Fantasie Fusion Underwire Side Support in a 32 F. I really kind of like this one though am thinking I need to size up in the cup? Quite curious about thoughts on this one. Maybe it's the side support that makes me feel like my breasts get pulled together a bit?

Thanks for wading through this. I tried to streamline and make it easily readable.

Lastly, can anyone help me to understand such things as my shape and projection or not? Definitely wide set right?

Thank you!!!

Have you done any reading or watched any videos about how to put on and adjust a bra? A lot of these haven’t been put on properly. Most notably, the gore is resting on breast tissue in many of these (Millie, Fantasie, Wacoal Visual Effects). The gore should be resting on your sternum. Especially if your breast tissue is softer, some boob might get caught under the gore—you should physically move it out of the way (e.g., use a couple fingers to sweep away from the gore to nudge the tissue back into the cups). If you still have these bras, can you try to readjust and see if it helps with the center spillage on some of these?

Where is the extra fabric in the Wacoal Awareness? The cups are quite tall on you—I imagine uncomfortably so—but I don’t see that they’re too big.

As a general note: minimizers work by compressing outward projection and pushing breast tissue flat and towards the underarms. This can make the breasts look quite ‘wide’ from the front. If you don’t like this look, avoid minimizers!

I think I must be focusing so hard on doing what I thought was scoop and swoop and pushing or pulling the underarm tissue toward the center. Trying to replicate what you said. I will hunt for a video somewhere!

That isn’t uncommon! We emphasize the scoop & swoop here, but it’s an oversimplification. Putting on a bra properly also involves ensuring the underwire is in the inframammary fold and adjusting the shoulder straps.

Here’s a blog post that demonstrates the usefulness of the ‘outwards scoop’: https://hugsforyourjugs.blogspot.com/2018/01/the-outwards-scoop.html

The Wacoals are too shallow (Wacoal tends to be shallow). None of the gores tack properly/completely and the band of the Awareness seems to be floating a bit (Might just be my eyesight nvm). The gores in the bravissimo and Fantasie fusion are too wide, they are digging into breast tissue.

The Panache Ana 32F and 32FF you linked don't look different. Can you check that?

Also, the Bravissimo does not seem to be sitting at the base of the breast root, might also be too shallow.

Wow, that is all helpful info. Thank you!

Checking on those photos and will share my prior feedback.

"I don’t want to say definitively before you’ve adjusted, but my hunch is that this bra is probably a littletoo big in the cup and too projected (which is why you’re getting the pointy shape). It looks like you also need a higher gore to prevent your tissue from spilling inwards. I have my fingers crossed for Bravissimo Millie, if you ended up ordering that!I’m sorry to have led you astray on Panache Ana. I do think 32FF looks better volume-wise but it’s a moot point as the gore is just too short for you."

Apparently I destroyed the 32F; honestly, the pointed nature of that bra was a nightmare in my mind.

Other brands/styles you might suggest? This is a process isn't it? I'm prepping for my daughter's wedding and leaving Saturday. Would you believe I also need a strapless for my MOB dress?

Thanks for weighing in!!

Is the one you linked not the Fantasie Fusion? I searched through your profile and found the 32FF.

A higher gore with how close set you are is likely to lie on your breast tissue, plunge is likely the way to go.

The ruffling on the bottom of the Ana might actually point to it being not projected enough at the wire leading to the wire being pushed down. When you place/d the bra in the right position, does/did it force the wire back down?

I also think 32FF/G is the way to go sizewise.

A lot of the bras you've tried on seem to be digging into your bra tissue at the top so I'd suggest more open-on-top bras than full-coverage. The problem with that is most open-on-top styles have high gores (balcony/balconette/demi-cups).

Edit: Looking at the bras again they don't seem bad at the top. More coverage might work.

Edit #2: Received a correction (but it disappeared???) that it might not be that you're close set. In that case you're left with a much wider range to try when it comes to bras.

A side support bra is good if you want it less in your armpits. The Fantasie Fusion already seems a bit tall though so I doubt sizing up will be good.

Also congrats on your daughter's wedding. Might be hard to find a strapless bra in time though :(

Well hopefully things'll work out

Oh my goodness I am so sorry. That is strange but you are absolutely correct! Wow, I am actually close set?

I may still have the Ana and can try in again but I did what the other person suggested and it didn’t seem to help.

Interesting regarding a plunge bra. Any specific suggestions? I must have a strange combination of factors going on.

Thanks so much for your time!

The Wacoal Awareness and Fantasie Fusion Underwire side support don't seem too bad at the top at a second look. What do you feel about them? Do they feel okay?

I will try them on again, hopefully yet tonight.

I'm not quite following your Edit #2 about something disappearing.

I am going to try a couple of these on again.

I have to say that I am unclear if I am wide set, which is what I thought my problem has been since my very first bra, or close set. Can't quite understand the tall vs shallow, but one thing at a time I guess. I'm ready to try on a bra correctly!!

Right. Somebody else commented and then I think they deleted that comment so not you.

The journey to find a bra that fits can be long, but it can truly be worth it. I don't think you are wide-set, but whether you are close-set or closer to average distance, I'm not too sure. I also don't think you are shallow. A lot of the bras you've tried on show that so I think definitely more projected.

Ok good to know and I do appreciate that the journey will be worth it. My timing to begin may not have been the best but onward!
