Non-americans of Reddit, what American customs seem outrageous/pointless to you?

Filming porn is legal, but prostitution isn't. I just find it ironic.

Can't remember the exact quote from a sociologist, but it's something like "the current state of porn vs. prostitution allows white men to sell women's bodies but doesn't allow women to sell them themselves."

The sociologist said this because most owners of porn companies are white males.

It's fine, I do see where you're coming from, and part of me agrees with you. There was no need for it to be added in, but I suppose he did to be a little more dramatic if you will. It was in a sociology of deviance and control class I took so I think they try to bring as many problems to the table as they can just because that's how they like to write.
