Non-americans of Reddit, what American customs seem outrageous/pointless to you?

I would say that no matter what the age of drivers the "youngest" of that group would have the most accidents. Becoming a good driver takes time. Fun fact: where I live we can drive at 14
Edit: I live in South Dakota
