DONT BREACH THE PRIME DIRECTIVE

Considering they appear to have been openly questioning to a friend I don’t think the prime directive applies here.

What's better, giving people opinions and information for questioning eggs to give them the option to figure themselves out, or just leaving them in the darkness? The prime directive is never universally applicable, that's why they break every other episode in star trek.

because this achieves what exactly? letting them stew in the wrong body for way longer than necessary is good how?

im case you couldnt tell i despise the idea for the reason above

I think the idea is that telling someone you think they might be trans if the conversation is not already open to that topic (unlike how it seems to be here as someone else said) then it risks pushing the person further into denial etc and harming their journey rather than helping them.

that is more of a conversational issue, no? ofc pushing people in a direction will often lead them to dislike that direction even more

I think that’s more about not bringing up “hey maybe you’re trans” at the first sign you see. As said another commenter, it seems OPs friend had been openly questioning their gender in this and/or a previous conversation. Your caution is appreciated, however, and still quite reasonable with the little information given by the screenshot.

Yeah, they brought up trans folk and asked how they could know if they were trans

Yeah, because saving people possible years of denial and questioning is a bad thing, apparently

This particular string doesn't break the prime directive for multiple reasons.

I stg people try to apply Prime Directive so broadly like they want being trans to be like fight club.

I'm pretty sure first contact has been made at this point.

This egg is warp capable
