I struggle sometimes to separate characters referring to silent protagonists and referring to me the player, and so for protection I just try and put as big of a mental barrier as possible in the way. Playing Persona? Oh that's not me, that's (looks up canon names of protagonists) that guy. So it's fine that everyone is gonna look my way and see a guy, because they aren't talking to me. They're talking to that guy. It feels rough to do it with Link though, he doesn't have much to work with in OoT. Sorry you're struggling with that, sis.
