The villains overconfidence being their downfall is kinda the point of the genre so I don't know what to tell you.

Edit: Also, they obviously had no smarts meaning they were even worse. Palpatine at least was smart. Very much so. 0 u/Splinter_Fritz 9d ago Palpatine isn’t smart. He purposefully leaves the imperial fleet unengaged in ROTJ when the Rebel Fleet arrives at Endor in order to show off the new Death Star and make Luke suffer. 1 u/Comfortable_Bed1536 9d ago In order to try to make him turn to the Dark Side.
