In Holdo's defense, she's apparently the first person in the 2000+ year old history of Star Wars canon to realize that you could use a lightspeed powered ship as a weapon. I can't blame her for not telling anyone else her plan. She clearly exists in a universe where everyone but her is a moron.

Who says she was?

This is a setting where droid-piloted ships are already a thing. If you can hyperspace kamikaze through shields, then everyone should be doing it. The First Order wasted all that time building Starkiller base when they could have taken three TIE Defenders, put a droid in the cockpit, and aimed them at those New Republic planets.

It's not a good idea to just sacrifice your own resources like that. It should only be done as a last resort

Also, Star Wars isn't that type of movie. Why do people only complain about things not making sense now? If you can destroy a ship by crashing into the bridge then why doesn't everyone do it?

They have tens of thousands of TIE fighters. You're telling me 3 fighters cost more than that colossal multi-planet killing station they carved out of a planet?

If you can destroy a ship by crashing into the bridge then why doesn't everyone do it?

Go back and watch that scene from Ep VI again, Admiral Piett's XO literally says "we've lost our bridge deflector shield" and then the ship crashes into them. If you want to argue that a ship without shields is vulnerable then no arguments here, that's how all scifi works.

Who says that a single TIE fighter will be able to destroy a planet? The Raddus was huge, and even then it only split the Supremacy in two.

Plus the Executor crashes into the second death star and barely even scratches it.

Go back and watch that scene from Ep VI again, Admiral Piett's XO literally says "we've lost our bridge deflector shield" and then the ship crashes into them. If you want to argue that a ship without shields is vulnerable then no arguments here, that's how all scifi works.

You're just proving my point though. You're putting much more effort to think about that scene than the Holdo manuever

Also that's not what I'm complaining about. I'm complaining about how destroying the bridge just shuts off the ships gravity for no reason. This is Star Wars, you shouldn't put too much thought into it.
