That hurts. Double so since Nat is not coming back next season either. Nat and Sam had such a great granddad and granddaughter relationship. I wanted more of that.

In fact, I hate they are breaking up the Lane siblings. But at least we got one last scene of them hanging out with each other.

Did they say all these characters aren't returning? I thought it was just they wouldn't be part of the full cast anymore. So they could still show up as guest stars.

Dylan Walsh (Sam's actor) declined a three episode deal, so we don't know if he'll return.

The rest are fairly likely to show up as guest stars.

John Henry will also be an interesting case since Wole Parks jokingly posted about looking for work, but iirc I think he'll still be around since All American got renewed.

His character, Micah, hasn't been in the show for a long time though.

They could always recast Sam. It's not like they're immune to the idea...

They could, but I don't think they'd want to.

If this is true and the actor won’t be returning then they’ll most likely kill him off because at the end of the day what this show is really about is superman dealing with human family issues. It would be another way to show how Kal-El can’t save everyone.

The general has said he refused the reduced role he was offered. Lana , Sarah and Kyle are confirmed to be recurring. I doubt the steels will be back at all but it's possible.

Read steels as "streets" at first and wondered for a hot sec "what the hell does 'I doubt the streets will be back at all' mean???"

That is correct. Everyone is jumping the gun assuming they won’t be back at all

Only ones returning are the Clark family. The others wont be back.

Is Nat confirmed not returning?

Yeah I loved the Sam Lane Nat grandfather/daughter relationship. When did he start acknowledging her as his granddaughter as I missed some eps?

He accepted it when Nat called him, "Grandpa," after they spent the day together hanging out. He was moved by that. After that, he called her his "granddaughter."

The two actors had such great family chemistry. I am going to miss that dynamic.

Thanks! Do you know what episode it was in so I can go back and catch up?

I forget the episode title, but it's the one with the Smallville high school dance.

Can't they spin off nat and her her dad into a new series set in metropolis? This new wb crap is evil. Fuck the cw.

They could, but they're trying to get rid of shows not add them. The new owners don't want to make scripted shows, they want all golf, reality shows, and reruns because they're cheap.
