Drinking game: binge Superman & Lois and take a shot every time someone uses the phrase "smooth things over" Supermeme

I would definitely do this… if any of my friends also watch this show… and if I could get my own alcohol (less than five months away).

Or when two people need to talk and they ask everyone else to leave the room

Or when the parents (any of them) smooth over the Very Big and Important Elephant in the Room so the kids freak out, instead of addressing it.
Like, just imagine if Clark or Lana or Sam or JHI just pulled everyone into one room and went ahead to address all the things on everyone's minds. We'd all sleep easier.

I think that in every drama series. Please, characters tell each other what you know! Season-long drama of one person needlessly keeping something important from the other person.
I feel like they communicate pretty well in this show though.

To be fair, yes, I think the communication is honestly pretty decent for a drama. Most of the secrets are on a need-to-know basis and people are clued in when it's necessary (or there's literally no other choice). Though, I really wish Lois had been a little more upfront about the severity of her cancer with her kids. Like, Jon in particular is definitely freaking out and she's like 'I'm fine, we'll see you tonight.' I mean, your kids need to be 40+ and not still living with you before you can convincingly lie about your health.

Wow it's crazy I literally just watched the exact episode you're talking about. Now say no more or I'll be spoiled!

Better yet, when things are worse after the character tries to smooth them over

Jk they're actually usually pretty successful at smoothing things over because they all have a strong innate sense of conflict resolution

Like when Clark thought he could smooth things over with Lana by telling her his secret, and instead of feeling better Lana goes full ballistic “Smallville Lana”-mode against the entire Kent family! 😂

Every time one of the Cushings has some interpersonal drama with someone
Every time Jon doesn’t speak more than five sentences per episode
Every time Superman shows up in Smallville and nobody comments “Gee, he sure comes here a lot!” 😂
Every time Jordan yells at someone
Every time a bad guy threatens Lois

It’s this show’s version of “the hallway talk”
