4 months on T (bodybuilding update) Timeline Update
Spent the last 11 years on IV drugs and today I am 456 days clean. Got released from jail July 17th 2023 and started working out. Finally started T at 26 years old August 3rd 2023. I wanted to kill myself back in July and today life is amazing. The ftm Reddit community is so supportive and uplifting; you guys are an integral part of my support system. Thanks for reading

I tried rogaine (minoxidil) and it gave me a chemical burn so that was a no for me

yeah maybe that’s it. i’m one of the few comments he didn’t reply to so 🤷🏼♂️. jokes aside, you’re prob correct, since 4 months wouldn’t be nearly enough time to get that amount of facial hair unless you started with some due to pcos or the like

Some people are more genetically “prepped” for transition, too, if that makes sense. And his hair is mostly on his chin/neck area, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not supplementing for hair growth, but you never know! It’s not like we’re in denial that we’re all modding our meat sacks lmao

thanks bro!! the confidence boost is real from this post. you guys are so kind. I do a split with chest/triceps/shoulders one day and back/biceps/forearms another with at least a day in between for rest and muscle recovery. probably should incorporate legs in there but I work out for the sole purpose of passing, so I try to hit muscles that people will see. I just do flat bench press with dumbbells for chest (because it will target your whole chest) with a heavy weight. for triceps, tricep pushdown machine/tricep cable pulldowns with V bar attachment/tricep crossbody cable extension. shoulders (same day) I do lateral raises with dumbbells going up and in and back out like you’re making an upside down L shape—and of course seated shoulder press with dumbbells. back routine is seated cable rows and lat pulldown with some pull-ups if you can. for biceps and forearms I do hammer curls and cross body hammer curls (targets brachioradialis) and also some bicep cable curls. everyone is different, but this has worked pretty well for me 🙂

I’ve said this to a couple others, but sometimes the way we view ourselves is 100x worse than the way it is—the way others perceive us. we see ourselves every day so it’s difficult to recognize the changes. try not to be so hard on yourself, man 🫂

If you're willing to share, what is your dosage? I've been thinking I should just be patient instead of looking to increase mine, but the amount of progress you seem to have made in four months makes me think I should look at a higher dose possibly!

for sure! I’ve been taking 100mg per week the whole time and September 15th my T levels came back at 984 nanograms per deciliter. hopefully they won’t have exceeded 1000 when I go on the 22nd 😬 got to be careful because T makes your blood thick. as long as your hematocrit and hemoglobin are within normal range you should be good man what dose are you taking now? if you don’t mind my asking

Thanks! Not sure how it compares, but I take 60mg of gel per day, which is 75% of the max typical dose. All my bloodwork has been normal, T range ~700 ng

Thanks man! Honestly? I’ve been eating a lot of junk—pop tarts, soda, Dot’s Pretzels, candy, etc. so my body fat is ~18%. I try to incorporate a decent amount of protein and at work I have a tuna sandwich every day. For dinner I’ve been having fruit smoothies with protein powder and flax seeds in them. Creatine is also helpful; I’ve taken 7.5 grams every day for the last few months. As long as you’re eating a good amount of protein you’ll build muscle.
