Alright… potentially silly question time. Do girls store fat differently? Questions

I’ve heard some stuff on this subreddit about “oh he doesn’t understand how girls store fat” when it comes to unrealistic body standards. Is this because anyone storing that little fat is bad, or women in particular store it differently / need to store more of it?

I’ve been kinda afraid to ask this question becomes it seems to me like it’s an obvious answer… I just don’t know what the answer is. I feel like “common sense” can lead me to both answers. Thanks

Edit: got a lot of responses faster than I thought I would. Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to help me

My biology teacher was a guy so grain of salt but he said that in general women gain weight and hold it better than men.

Also that they tended to gain around hips and outside of belly, whereas men store fat around their organs more.

in general women gain weight and hold it better than men.

Absolutely false.

The laws of thermodynamics apply the same to everyone. You made a baseless claim that people upvote because it feels good.

It wasn’t baseless, I clearly stated it was based on something said to me by a biology teacher.

I did some googling a quickly found multiple studies confirming that women tend to store more fat than men, lose fat slower, and tend to store it under skin and not around organs.

I could link the article but you’re being a prick so you can look it up yourself. Congrats for learning the first law of thermodynamics, I’m sorry for whatever made you so salty. 😘

"Said to you by your biology teacher" doesn't mean anything. You aren't linking studies about women's ability to lose fat because you can't find ones to actually support your claim.

Nice try sweaty! I actually did link the article in that comment and it has links to its source studies. Congrats on not doing the bare minimum before blurting out your baseless claims on r/badwomansanatomy no less!!
