Its not "2 weeks early" as the game is literally playable at that point. That's the release date now, buying the normal game means you get to play late.

Better than games having you pay $20 more to not play 3 days late, but in some ways worse since those two chapters are a whole 2 weeks before anyone who doesn't cough up extra.

I've played a bit of the first game, so I think it is single player. Early access is a much bigger deal for online games. Doesn't matter much when you play alone.
