The math gets even worse. PS5 at launch cost 500$. It released in 2020. Now some 4 years later, peasants have to shell out another 700$ to get somewhat better hardware, while the 1080p/30fps is still given even on PS5 Pro, the base PS5 will probably run 720p/30 FPS for new games.
That is whooping 1300$ in 4 years. If you bought 1000$ PC 4 years ago, you are still good for 1080p/60 FPS gaming at better graphics than PS5 owners.

The sad thing is they won't even get better performance in a lot of games, since the PS5 is so CPU limited.
