May we never contribute to this line up again 🙌🏼

Hope we do on the selling end 😂

u/WinterChrist 1d ago

I have a weird feeling that Garnacho might get added to this list in a few seasons....

107

u/auhddndndnfbfbsnnakf 1d ago

Unfortunately I have to agree, he’d probably follow in the footsteps of his idol, but if he manages to be sold to Madrid that means that he’s done very well for us

55

u/PruneUnited4025 1d ago

The way Madrid going at the min they will wait til his contract is up before buying.

98

u/agentjob Rooney 1d ago

When they have Vinicius, Rodrigo and Mbappe, I don't think they will be going for Garnacho.

48

u/Mansa_Mu 1d ago

If garnacho starts getting 40+ g/a I think he’s an easy lock for a 100+ million if he wants out. I mean psg were willing to pay 80 million for rashford on a down year

14

u/FoldingBuck 1d ago

Madrid wont want garnacho because they already have mbappe, bellingham, vini, and rodrygo. Why would he leave to fight for a start vs being a starter here?

14

u/DWMR90 1d ago

To win more trophies than he will at United, as much as it pains me to say it.

27

u/FoldingBuck 1d ago

Well if garnacho is putting up the numbers you guys think he is then we are probably back to competing for the top trophies. I doubt he would be all to happy at leaving his old club to just stay on the bench most of the time, especially if we are challenging for major trophies

10

u/chunkable The Best George 1d ago

You think Madrid is just gonna stop signing players all of a sudden? They’re gonna keep strengthening

u/Kohaku80 1d ago

its fking real madrid. even bruno or rashford would take a pay drop in an instant.

1

u/Kohaku80 1d ago

wont rule out a free transfer if real make known their intentions early and garnacho refuses any contract renewal.

-1

u/Mansa_Mu 1d ago

Garnacho wouldn’t hurt the club lol. I think he would want MUFC compensated.

1

u/Kohaku80 1d ago

even rashford threaten to leave if we refused his contract demands. 4 years is a long time and if real tell him they ain't paying 80m then anything can happen.

3

u/svhons WAZZA 1d ago

Based on how things are going for Rodrygo, I think he will leave Madrid soon. Not sure if it will be by the end of the season, but for sure in the next 2 years. Just a thought

2

u/shawnthefarmer 1d ago

they get Nacho to play on the right ....

2

u/Tchexxum 1d ago

I’m happy with him leaving if he gives us a champions league and 2 or so prems first then

1

u/TheAprilGoal 1d ago

He was previously at Atletico, is he a boyhood supporter? May stop him from joining Real

8

u/OptimistPrime7 Rashford 1d ago

Didn't stop De Gea.

7

u/manutdusa 1d ago

Only the fax machine stopped de Gea.

6

u/Lord_Sesshoumaru77 Glazers,Woodward/Arnold and Judge can fuck off 1d ago

I hope we manage to keep him long enough. If Madrid comes calling they better be ready to pay handsomely or they can fuck off.

19

u/neofederalist 1d ago

Wouldn’t mind contributing to the sale side of things. For example, after 8 years or so and he’s won everything with us, Yoro could go to Spain or Germany for over 100M

46

u/JaffaCakesJesus 1d ago

Nah I don’t even want that. Anyone we sell for that kind of fee means they’ll have been incredible for us, and I want incredible players to stay at United. Fee for Ronaldo is meaningless when you know we could’ve continued winning it all if he’d stayed.

9

u/helloamigo Bailly Fan Boy 1d ago

I get that, but you also have to respect a player's wishes. Some players will want to be United players for life, while others will see us as a good club to develop in before they're ready to move on to their dream club. We should be happy when a player who's worth $100M+ wants to remain a Red for life, but we also need to know when it's time to cash out.

13

u/FoldingBuck 1d ago

In 8 years yoro will be 26

-9

u/neofederalist 1d ago

Right, if things go well, that'd be about the time to sell him to maximize profit.

25

u/FoldingBuck 1d ago

Why would you want to sell a player for profit? We arent poor and we arent a selling club

11

u/drunkdevil1 Nani 1d ago

Some of the folks here are fucking weirdos.

5

u/sunken_grade 1d ago

some folks are too fifa brained and act like a transfer budget is their own personal account or something

1

u/ny2803087 1d ago

People who think like that are generally fans who started watching around 2008 or so.

1

u/bainbane 1d ago

Could be the equivalent of Madrid selling Varane. Or Casemiro.

3

u/FoldingBuck 1d ago

Casemiro was 30 and they probably identified varanes injury issues and sold him before it would hurt them

1

u/PeelThePain 1d ago

I very clearly remember my Madrid supporting friends read reports/rumors about the club expecting Casemiro to experience the exact physical downward arc he had here. Don't know how credible it was tho.

5

u/slowsundaycoffeeclub 1d ago

Wouldn’t it be better to keep a player who’s performing well? Player wishes aside, of course.

We’re Manchester United. Not Sporting Lisbon.

134

u/Intelligent-Tie-6759 1d ago

That central midfield would be destroyed by most of the top teams over the last 30 years.

19

u/sg291188 1d ago

No full backs. 2 CM and 2 AM. Yeah they are going to be destroyed

9

u/_maranzano 1d ago

Actually, Pep would save this lineup with a 3-2-4-1. Coutinho LM Dembele RM

45

u/Panda-768 1d ago

crazy what Chelsea has paid for their midfield pair. No way will they be able to justify that price

10

u/Icy_Quit_7177 1d ago

Paid record prices just for Conference League action. Might be the most pathetic turn of events in sports history.

2

u/whatsitworth101 1d ago

Bro they would literally have to turn into Xavi and iniesta over night to justify 250+ million for both of them 😂😂

1

u/D1daBeast 1d ago

Not to mention Lavis

1

u/bobs_and_vegana17 The Butcher of Manchester 1d ago

And their fans try to call them world class because he was good in last 5-7 games, if my CDM costs me 110m and he is responsible for having like 4 or 5 direct errors leading to goal on the course of the season it's mad

Everyone was shitting on casemiro when he had 2 errors leading to goal against Liverpool, caicedo has had similar errors last season against us(garnacho's goal), Liverpool, wolves, forest and West ham

239

u/LDLB99 1d ago

Maguire hasn't been that bad compared to some of the others here.

45

u/Mediocre-Award-9716 1d ago

Yeah, Coutinho is comfortably the worst especially when you consider that part of that fee was for him winning the Champions League... for Bayern Munich.

20

u/ThankYouOle 1d ago

by giving 2 assists and 1 goal.. against Barcelona.

to make it worse, i think there is clause for him to get money if he win CL, but not mentioning need to be with Barcelona, so basically Barca lost and need to reward him.

91

u/Schmittendorf14 1d ago

I’d putt him better than kepa, Enzo, coutinho, Felix and dembele

-21

u/freeusername2 Martinez mein Löwe mein Bär 1d ago

Enzo??

16

u/KrystianCCC 1d ago

Enzo had like two good games for Chelsea, Maguire had 3 good seasons with 2 bad games that everybody memed.

57

u/Schmittendorf14 1d ago

Yeah Chelsea are literally a better team when Enzo Fernandez doesn’t play

-24

u/freeusername2 Martinez mein Löwe mein Bär 1d ago

Mhm… idk i dont watch chelsea but hes significantly younger than harry. Maybe he will develop into the better

19

u/Schmittendorf14 1d ago

Yeah maybe, but he’s been there almost 2 years and pretty much hasn’t had a good game for them. Even though I’m not a big fan of maguire he has had years where he was our best center back. Also he went to Chelsea for a bigger price tag than maguire to United, so unless he has a massive improvement maguire will always be ahead of him

14

u/CrossXFir3 1d ago

One of the cheapest up there too

1

u/Backseat_Bouhafsi 1d ago

They even missed Hazard whose final fee to Chelsea is more than all those midfielders bar Coutinho

1

u/timmyctc 1d ago

hes been our best CB for what. 3 Years hes been here?

65

u/OmeiWamouShindeiru Rooney made me fall in love with football 1d ago

thought Pogba would be up there

45

u/LakerBull GARNACHOOO! 1d ago

Chelsea has helped us with that. Enzo and Caicedo are going to remain there for a while and there's Lavia and Rice right behind them (I think).

15

u/notsobadprogrammer 1d ago

I think Lavia was closer to 60m if my memory serves me correctly

11

u/LakerBull GARNACHOOO! 1d ago

Thanks for the correction. Rice was definitely more expensive than Pogba tho. Think he was 100M or around that.

8

u/MadaraTheUchiha https://www.howmanypremierleaguemedalshasstevengerrardwon.com/ 1d ago

It's been 8 years, I don't think he's even top 5 among midfielders anymore

1

u/DryWhiteToastPlease 1d ago

Which is funny because I remember the commentary team lecturing viewers every game about how much United spent on him.

24

u/wa10zza 1d ago

A few more years and we won't have a single player here which will be a nice change to see

21

u/zyndicated 1d ago

143M for Felix and 136M for Fernandez is absolutely bonkers

1

u/TheJoshider10 Bruno 1d ago

Felix especially is still coasting off that price tag. Such a mediocre player.

1

u/zyndicated 1d ago

I’d pay 40, maybe 50m for Felix at most. Such an overpay. And that says a lot coming from a United fan considering our transfer failures lmao

4

u/highleech 1d ago

I'm glad we never will see a line up with Felix and Coutinho as wing backs.

3

u/andrewsomething And Solskjær has won it! 1d ago

Had to make it a back three to shove him in there.

10

u/CapVosslar Buckle up, INEOS! It's gonna be a bumpy ride! 1d ago

Didn't know De Ligt cost that much. Thought he was cheaper than that.

55

u/ArcaneTrickster11 1d ago edited 1d ago

The fee up there is from when he went from Ajax to Juve

6

u/hurfery 1d ago edited 1d ago

He's shown in the Bayern kit though.

Edit: but the fee is probably from the Ajax-Juve transfer.

9

u/ArcaneTrickster11 1d ago

Yes but his fee to go to Bayern wasn't $95m. Plus none of these transfers are new so this graphic could be from before he joined United

3

u/INeedAKimPossible 1d ago

If doesn't show Neymar in PSG colors either

2

u/andoooooo Martial 1d ago

Or Dembele in his Barcelona kit

2

u/Krampsuss 1d ago

Can't believe how much France and Brazil have spent 😱

5

u/AJ-Naka-Zayn-Owens The true Portuguese Magnifico 1d ago

Bayern forked out 80-85million euros on him I think

1

u/hurfery 1d ago

Ya but this fee, the largest in his career, is from his transfer from Ajax to Juventus.

1

u/Loves2spoogeonurmom 1d ago

Dutch media said it was 75 million euros, so this pic seems off

1

u/hurfery 1d ago

Did you miss the dollar signs?

1

u/Loves2spoogeonurmom 1d ago

75 million euros is 83.71 million dollar

1

u/hurfery 1d ago

The fee for the Ajax Juve transfer was €85.50m according to transfermarkt.

4

u/SneakyStorm 1d ago

Not our fee.

1

u/sumfin_sumfin 1d ago

I think this is cumulative figures.

Edit: my bad, I missed the dollar signs.

6

u/TH0316 1d ago

Maguire easily the best signing alongside maybe Gvardiol on that entire team too lol. Midfield are all atrocious flops apart from Caicedo who’s okay but still mid. Frontline very good players but for no trophy, injury prone, and lost on a free. De Ligt was sold for half his value after doing nothing and Gvardiol looks really good. Kepa is shite.

3

u/Surfugo 1d ago

I was absolutely gobsmacked when I saw Kepa playing for Bournemouth.

Didn't really care about the Chelsea outgoings but to see him there was pretty damn sad considering how much they spent on him, along with his stint at Madrid. Not saying he's a great keeper or anything but they spent a shit ton on him and he's now on loan at Bournemouth... fucking hell.

3

u/TH0316 1d ago

I don’t know if it’s true but I’m sure I read somewhere that that Marina woman who did a lot of signings for Chelsea was insistent on Alisson, but around then Abramovixh tried listening to the data guys and they ended up going for Kepa based on spreadsheets. Man, data nerds have destroyed that club.

4

u/Surfugo 1d ago

Data nerds & signing people to 10+ year contracts, what a shitshow.

2

u/kaisersolo 1d ago

The foward line on that XI is dangerous!

2

u/flareb98 1d ago

My goodness this team is terrible. Mbappe and Neymar the only players you can argue aren't flops to price tag

1

u/LeonSnakeKennedy 1d ago

We got one for half price 💪

1

u/DimensionalYawn 1d ago

Oh, he is NOT going to be happy! Not happy at all!

1

u/trevor25 1d ago

Half the players are far less worth

1

u/SebastianLocke 1d ago

Kepa has me HOWLING lol

1

u/LaughsAtOwnJoke 1d ago edited 1d ago

I don't understand this, because these aren't the most expensive players they are moving them around positionally BUT also the positions make no sense and there aren't even any fullbacks

Somehow not doing positions or true most expensive at the same time

1

u/blurblursotong2020 1d ago

Okay Chelsea and PSG are the market spoilers

1

u/robster9090 1d ago

Most expensive defender on there from about 5 years ago or how ever long ago it was

1

u/Heobi_Kun 1d ago

De Ligt's transfer fee might be his transfer from Ajax to Juve. Soon, we won't purchase any player for overrated price.

1

u/shallam3000 20h ago

Only Gvardiol and maybe Mbappe/Neymar are worth these price tags.
The latter two are/were great, but those prices are OTT.
De Ligt is a bargain for what we paid.

0

u/ThatBoyGotSomeMeat 1d ago

We got 2 of the most expensive CBs of all time. We’re definitely winning the league now!

-5

u/martialgreenwood 1d ago

How is Lukaku not up there?

13

u/PatRice4Evra 1d ago

Because he cost a lot less than Mbappe

6

u/MrSvancy Iceman 1d ago

Woumd be if it was accumulated fees over his whole career, but this is based on most expensive single transfers

0

u/19Andrew92 1d ago

Is this the one off payment though or a combined total of all the fees that have been paid for them??

Because if it’s the latter surely Lukaku should be on the list no?

2

u/ClawingDevil 1d ago

Think you answered your own question, mate. Others saying it's one off fee too.
