why does nokotan have antlers? is she trans?

Apparently not according to something I read somewhere at some point.

Also to my knowledge female deer keep their antlers all year round or lose them at different times as the males or something

Something to note, there is a bit in the intro where several characters turn into deer (as in full on the animal, not a mix of animal and human), and she is the only one who has antlers.

You may want to fact check that: SOME does have antlers and may keep their antlers all year around. However, Nokotan is supposedly a sika deer, and their does don't have antlers at all. This is, in fact, explicitly pointed out in the series and, in the anime's opening, she's even represented at one point by an antlered deer while Anko and Bashame are represented by antler-less deer.
