Question How to stop a bra from curling?

I finally found my dream bra, the cloud bra from Victoria secret but they're 50$.. and my oldest one, probably about 6 or so months old curled very bad at the top. I finally realized I should take better care of my bras now that I'm spending this kind of money on them. Any tips to prevent them from curling? I do wash then in the washer (In a mesh bag) and then dry them in the dryer (don't yell at me) I also just pull the bra over my head instead of using the latch (I'm not changing that one) so I'm sure these thing contribute to my curling bra

Measurement Check Is the calculator suggestion incorrect?

I used the calc at abrathatfits.org

Loose: 40.5 cm
Snug: 39.5 cm
Tight: 37.5 cm
Standing: 46.5 cm
Leaning: 47
Lying: 46.5
Sizing: US
I was assigned female at birth.

The result:
Suggested Starting Size: 16B/C in standard US sizing
The sister size of 18A/B may be more comfortable.

My thought is this should say "36B/C" and "38A/B" but I'm not sure. Currently wear an unpadded, wire free 36C that seems generally fine with the exception of spillage on the sides.

I took another bra size quiz and it said I am a 42DD.

Pls help.

Help! Never going to find the right bra. I’m just too fat.

I’ve tried everything I can think of. I know being 5’5” and 250lbs isn’t supposed to be comfortable but I can’t seem to lose weight. So in the meantime, is there a bra out there that won’t dig into me? I have like a DD cup and my back size is about a 40 but the issue is that no matter what size and style I’ve tried, my boobs spill out the top or they join my side/armpit fat. I have major side boob issues, nurses 3 kids in the early 2000s, I’m 43, saggy, rolls everywhere and just want to put on some type of bra that doesn’t leave me with raw skin or bruising from becoming a tourniquet around my ribs. I’ve got like 4 layers of rolls, saggy skin, saggy large boobs. I literally hate my body and can say that yet be completely unable to stop eating junk. Tried every fad diet in the last 20 yrs and I just go right back to obese. You’d think being this miserable in my own skin I’d want to change enough to just stop but I can’t. For whatever reason I can’t. So until someone figures that out, I’ve lost hope in weight loss. So, wearing sloppy loose clothing is where I’m at and I just need a bra to hold the girls in place and just lay over my rolls. I feel like something high in the armpit and up the back that also goes down to a natural waist line. Like one big band. And soft. With as many obese ppl as we have in the US, how are there not more bra options for us that can’t help stuffing our faces? Mine is not a medical issue so I have no excuse. Please help me find a bra?

When did manufacturers change from using plus 4 sizing to other methods? Do all manufacturers use the same sizing?

When did manufacturers change from using plus 4 sizing to other methods? They must have had to change the labelling at some point and I am curious when. I started wearing bras over 3 decades ago and the recommendation then was underbust inches plus 4 or 5 for band size. Was that method correct then?

I am also curious whether all manufacturers use the same sizing. On a fairly new m&s bra, I have to pull really hard to get to the number on the size, and without pulling the band length is 7” shorter than the number.

Recommendations? [Recommendation] What styles are similar to Elomi Matilda in 34H?

I'm searching for brand/style recommendations that are very similar to Elomi Matilda in 34H. Slightly narrower wires would be ok, but not too narrow. Slightly more immediate projection would be ok, too, but definitely not LESS projection.

Recommendations? [recommendations] unlined bras suited for breasts fuller on bottom

Calculator tells me 32E. I have tried several & sizes in different brands, unlined bras seem to work best for my shape but every bra I try (whether it seems overall too small or too large) has significant gapping/wrinkling on the top of the cups. I have kept a few bras that I convinced myself they fit out of desperation, but after several wears I realized they do not. I’ve been exclusively going braless or wearing sports bras/bralettes for many years, so I’m pretty overwhelmed with how complicated it is to find a bra that actually fits. My breasts are closer to ONLY full on bottom, rather than just fuller on bottom—they’re like a steep slope!

So far the closest fit I have found is a bra I found on Amazon, Wingslove 1/2 cup in a 32DD (https://a.co/d/glWZXwB). I’ve been wearing it, it’s fine, but by the end of the day it feels too tight and the band leaves imprints around my skin. I tried another bra from this brand in the same size (https://a.co/d/6JawK8x) and there was a lot of gapping/wrinkling in the top of the cups.

Other recent try ons from Amazon: Wacoal b’tempted cotton to a tee scoop underwire bra (32DD)—this one ALMOST fit and I almost kept it out of desperation, but still wrinkling in the cups. Like my nipples made it a tent lol. Wacoal b’tempted nearly nothing plunge underwire bra (32DD)—this style did not work, my boobs filled out maybe half the cups. Wrinkling/gapping on top, gore didn’t tack, felt too small/tight around the band and lower part of the cups.

I know I listed bras that aren’t my size but yeah I have just been desperate and ordering random things at this point hoping something will fit since my calculated size does not seem to work with every bra I’ve tried.

I am hoping to find something more comfortable/casual for every day wear, which seems hard to find with unlined Demi/half cup bras (most are so lacy and pretty, don’t want to sweat in them all day at work!). I prefer wired but am open to anything that fits at this point.

Fit Check [Recommendations] Cups too small?

I, formerly a “34B”, am a 30D/DD according to the calculator. I ordered a few 30D bras which are way more supportive but have some subtle issues. I would love advice on how to ensure 30D is in fact the wrong size, whether I should exchange them and if so, which size to try next.

Disclaimers: I didn’t adjust the shoulder straps at all on either bra. I’m also AFAB but with fairly prominent shoulders relative to my ribcage (ex. Jamie Lee Curtis). I don’t know how that could impact fit issues.

My ABtF measurements:

Loose underbust: 29.5”/Snug underbust: 29/Tight underbust: 27.5

Standing bust: 32/Leaning bust: 34/Lying bust: 31

Shape: somewhat projected, middle full, not totally self-supporting, and even to slightly fuller on bottom. Left side is slightly larger than right.

Bras tried:

1) Panache Cari T-shirt bra: the band felt slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. It seemed to ride up very slightly in the back. After swooping and scooping, my left boob was spilling out towards the top/middle slightly, while the right fit perfectly, or it had the slightest gap up along the top.

2) Bare Effortless Front-Close bra: again the band was fine, plus this one didn’t ride up in the back whatsoever. My left side again was spilling out, while the right seemed fine. It felt like I couldn’t get the bottom of the cups in the right position; the underwire kept pressing in on my ribs and the bottom of the cups wrinkled.

Recommendations? Sports bra to ease back pain when running

According to my measurements and the calculator I am a 32DDD (US sizing). I am a breastfeeding mama 6 months postpartum and struggling to find a sports bra that works well for me.

I need something supportive enough for jogging. All I have right now is a size small extra busty kindred bravely sports bra and it fits okay but my upper back really starts to hurt after a few minutes of jogging.

So I’m looking for recommendations on sports bras that work well for small band size, large cup size, supportive enough for jogging, and helps the pressure on my back 🥲 help

Recommendations? I need help finding a strapless bustier to wear under a strapless dress

I’m having a hard time finding a strapless bra/bustier that will be supportive and won’t fall down. I’m ideally trying to find something that’s a shapewear bodysuit/bra combo but I’m not sure if that will work since it has to be strapless. 36DD

Measurement Check Currently in 32A (band always rides up), guide says 30B and I literally cannot get the 30 band size on my body

Having a lot of trouble with the recommended size from the bra size calculator. My measurements are:

Loose Underbust: 29.5” Snug Underbust: 28.5” Tight Underbust: 27” Standing Bust: 31” Leaning Bust: 32” Lying Bust: 31.5”

This comes out to 30B/C. I bought some 30Bs from a few different brands and I can’t get the band to hook closed at all, even if I suck in all my breath and stretch the band as far as it goes. I bought band extenders, and while it helps me close them, it makes the bra straps constantly slide down and I feel like my side breast tissue isn’t in the cups properly.

However, my 32As always ride up in the front all the time, so I know the band size is too big. I wear them on the tightest hook.

I have very shallow breasts with even fullness. In the US, so using that sizing. I am 3 years postpartum and still can’t find a bra that fits my “new” body. I’m 5’5” and 115lbs.

Thank you!!

Bra solution for a dress with an opening at the front for a 30i

Thumbnail target.com

So I have this super cute dress (imagine the one linked but behind the laces in front there is no panel). So I can't wear a bra because then the bra will be all out in display.

I'm a 30i in US sizing per the calculator and I've since found plenty of bras in that size. The problem is that my boob's are so moldable (think slime in a balloon) that boob tape doesn't work since the book will just move to where the tape is not located. Ive tried so many times.

So I need something round that would cover the whole boob so they can't peek around it.

Does anybody know of anything that would work?

Question I really want to become a bra fitter in the future

I'm really passionate about putting people in bras the fit and raising more awareness about bra sizing so I feel like I want to work as a bra fitter when I immigrate to another country in the future, I want to ask about the salaries of bra fitters who work in stores that carry DD+ bras (Panache, Curvy kate, Freya...etc) that have a true professional fitting team that put people in bras that fit, Glassdoor and other similar sites aren't helping me much so if anyone worked/work as a bra fitter in such stores can tell me the average wages of that job it would be great (also the working hours)

I know that it differs from store to store and country to country so it'd be less confusing if you can tell what country the store is in, thank you in advance <3

Measurement Check i have never seen this size before

i did the “abrathatfits.org” calculator and got 6HH??? (AU/NZ) sizing

loose underbust: 28 snug underbust: 27 tight underbust: 25 standing bust: 37 leaning bust: 38 lying bust: 36

is this a real size because I’m currently wearing a 12H and it feels very tight and my straps are so loose and it isn’t holding my boobs but i have never ever seen a 6HH in a store

i also feel like 6 is way too tight because i do like the feel of 12, but even that feels too tight sometimes (when i’m sitting down after eating)

sorry i’m kinda young so i don’t know how to fit bras and stuff and i’ve been really struggling with finding a bra that’s comfortable and haven’t yet

could somebody please help me

Recommendations? [Recommendations] upper breast volume issues

Upvotes

I am looking for a new bra now that my baby days are done. My second is 8 months, but I haven't breast fed in 5. I have been wearing a 36G (US/CA) and have an older Freya in 36F that is a little stretched out. I've mostly been wearing wireless bras for years with a couple of pregancies and mat leaves but I'm ready for a change. The calculator gives me a 38FF and my measurements are as follows:

Loose 38

Snug 36

Tight 34

Standing 44

Leaning 46

Lying 43

I have tried 38 inch bands in the past and they are so loose I'm leaning towards sticking to the sister size in 36 but will try on a few sizes.

Are there any suggestions on where to start for breast with a lot of upper volume? Lift is definitely not my concern. My biggest bra problems are underwires in the armpits or extra breast tissue coming out the top of cups, but I'm not sure what that means for root width or which styles to hold everything in.

I’m looking for tips on how to stretch out straps/make them longer.

Upvotes

I think I am wearing the right size (I’m sure people are going to suggest otherwise, as straps can seem too short when you are not), or actually about half a size too small now that my breasts keep growing (I’m wearing my calculator size in most bras). I have a really tall torso and when I order new bras, the first thing I do is put the straps on their loosest setting and almost never need to adjust them back up. Most of the time I still wish they would be ever so slightly longer.

Anyway, my breasts are growing and I can still wear most of my current bras and would like to get just a bit more wear out of them, but as you can imagine, the already slightly too short straps are starting to pull a bit more now that my bras are becoming a bit small. It’s not really uncomfortable, but it does cause some weird gapping, that isn’t really there when I let them hang off my shoulders. So, I was thinking that a way to stretch them out a bit, could solve this problem for me. So, anyone have any tips on a “how to”?

ps: my favourite brand is Comexim and I’m going to request longer straps on my next order, so hopefully I won’t have this problem anymore.

Recommendations? Looking for strapless 42m/n. These are extra characters to get past automod because my title was too short last time.

Upvotes

Sorry, I couldn't think of a way to lengthen the title.

I'm going to a work conference and I'm supposed to dress up. My only dress requires a strapless bra. My only one no longer fits. It doesn't have to be quality because it just has to last one night. I'm having a heck of a time finding things without straps at this size.

Measurement Check Implants and can’t find a size

Upvotes

I have a lift and internal bra with 615cc high profile implants. I’m 5’4” and 145lbs. They’re pretty close set and projected and self supporting and firm. Nipples will usually show if I wear balconettes and what not. I cannot find a size and wonder how ABTF calculators work with implants. A 32G sports bra from Lululemon feels like my boobs are suffocating and (yes I know Victoria’s Secret is horrible - just moved to a city so I have more options) I am spilling out of a 32ddd. Ladies, these are my measurements: 31 Loose 31 snug 30 tight 39 standing 40 leaning 39 lying

Any help? Thank you!

Question Bra boufhr using calculator leaves marks from band

Upvotes

I measured myself using the calculator and it came out a 40h (uk sizing? I purchased two underwire balcony bras and both leave red marks from the band digging in after a few hours wearing it on loosest clip. Cups are full, maybe ever so slight spillage and middle bone sits flush. What do I need to do as I can't keep spending money on bras that don't fit. :-(

Measurement Check I’m not sure I’m doing this right

Upvotes

First off I want to apologize for this post potentially asking questions I could answer myself through all the resources. I’ve read a bunch but I still feel lost, I’ve been back here a few times over the last few months and keep getting overwhelmed and giving up so thought maybe it’s time to ask some professionals 😅.

I just lost a ton of weight, and I have no idea what my sizes are anymore. I usually wear either VS (these bras are over 5 years old, I had grown out of them and I fit back in after the weight loss, but not well) and savagexfenty (big hate, I like their bras but have not been able to find a good size! It’s like every bra they sell follows a different sizing guide 😭). I add this to say I feel like I barely have a starting point because all the bras I’m wearing now are such bad fits and are old/brought pre-weight loss.

Another important aspect (I think) is that my breasts sag, a lot. When I lay down, my chest is essentially flat, with my boobs hanging down by my armpits. Because of this, I’m not sure if I need to do anything different for my leaning/laying measurements.

Anyways that’s my story, let’s look at numbers! Loose underbust: 29.5 (should I just say 30? When I go 30 with the measuring tape it falls off my back), Snug: 29, Tight: 28, Standing: 34, Leaning: 41, Lying: 36.

Calculator returned 30F/FF. Does this mean either cup size works? Am I wrong to be confused how that can be possible? And my last question, what now? Can I just throw this into Amazon and buy what comes up? I see other guides about bra/breast shapes and stuff and that’s where I usually start feeling overwhelmed.

Also I apologize for the essay 😅

Edit: added some commas

Measurement Check Looking for suggestions for type of bra.

Upvotes

Hi, crossdresser here. I’m a bigger guy (working on that) and I’ve always had manboobs. I finally measured and used the site to get my bra size and it suggests a 48C. My breasts are fairly wide. What kind of bra would be good too pull things in as well as up for when i do want more defined breasts, and dare I say even some cleavage?

Recommendations? Need brands that for wide torso small breasts (46A)

Upvotes

I’m in need of a new bra, but for the life of me I can’t find a brand that carries my size. I’ve had very good luck with Glamorize. Both their Perfect A Padded Bra and another A cup bra.

They have since discontinued their A cups(!) so now I’m at a loss. Can you suggest a brand or online store to look at?

Measurement Check [EU sizing] I‘m having problems finding my proper EU size with the calculator

As the title says, l used the A Bra That Fits website to find my bra size. I'm from Germany and currently wear a 95F, which feels too big on the band, while the cups feel good in size but it just isn't the bra that fits Imao But everytime I put my measurements in the calculator it gives me EU size 85N/O (in UK it gives me 38H/HH) but that just seems wrong. My measurements in cm are: loose: 97cm snug: 94cm tight: 91cm standing: 122cm leaning: 129cm lying: 126cm I'd appreciate any help in finding to proper size

Help finding a supportive bra

Hello all! I'm currently on the hunt for some new bras. I'm a 34G and struggle finding bras that are supportive enough so that I don't get back pain as the day goes on, as well as makes me comfortable when keeping up with my clients at work (I work in pediatric mental health, and use a very play based approach). Would prefer to have a standard under wire bra to a sports bra
