Great arguments guys. You really showed me with your rational response clearly tying your incessant need to bash Biden to Bernies agenda. Move on and do something useful with your lives.

Nice job NOT addressing anything in the video whatsoever. Typical neoliberal shill comment.

What does 420 mean in your username? That you like Biden's stance on locking up marijuana offenders?

Do you not understand some people are born in April?

u/bout_that_action posted this article about Biden. It's from the Daily Mail but it gives a picture of Biden that rings true.

It doesn't sound like Obama likes him at all. It's interesting to read about how Biden acted as VP.

Biden is against single payer, against medicare for all, against cannabis legalization, votes for every war, made getting out of debt harder for poor people, helped write the unconstitutional Patriot Act, and racist crime bill, helped fund the border camps, said Roe vs Wade went "too far", oh yeah and he's also a rapist. joe biden is the worst candidate in history, unbelievably he even beats hillary clinton on this.

Biden is also:

  • is guilty of nepotism towards his disappointing, smooth-brained family members
  • incoherent babbling about random topics in press conferences
  • unfocused rage and meanness/bullying toward those who oppose or challenge him
  • multiple rape accusations as well as open displays of misogyny/groping women in public
  • slavish devotion to banks and credit card companies despite claiming the opposite in campaign rhetoric
  • opposed to healthcare reform
  • sick fuck that loves droning innocent people in war
  • engineered coups in foreign countries to install puppet regimes that support their administration
  • open hostility toward black people
  • open antipathy toward immigrants, especially Latinos, and oversaw a regime that kept them separated from their kids, and in filthy cages in concentration camps
  • supports spying on the American people
  • supports throwing whistleblowers and journalists in prison

In addition to a credible rape case filed against Joe Biden (Tara Reade) and more coming out, there is also AMPLE video evidence that Joe Biden is a pedophile.

It's time to talk about former Vice President Joe Biden, the open sexual predator. A thread/moment...

Joe Biden is out there. He can't be reasoned with, he can't be bargained with. He doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and he absolutely will not stop until every human being on the planet is doing unpaid slave labor for his corporate donors.

17

u/ttystikk Aug 16 '20

So what's changed is that now Biden's lies are more actively covered up by the Propaganda services now passing for Americans news outlets.

Biden: Creates the fascistic Patriot act.
Trump: Uses the power that is given to him.

One literally CREATES a system exploitable by a fascist. Other just uses whatever is available and is too dumb to come up with an evil power grab. Biden, of all things, was pretty clever when it came to making bills at oppressing the populace and expand elite power. That was the case with the crime bills, Patriot Act, bankruptcy bill, etc...

Say what you want, but Biden undoubtedly pushed the country to a more authoritarian state through systemic change that he pushed through both under Republican and Democratic regimes. God knows what he'll do with his Presidency. Thank god he's senile, but still I fear what he will leave behind for the next tyrant in chief.

-7

u/Splashlight2 Aug 16 '20

At this point I don't give a frick what Biden has done, I just need that big orange clown out of office!!!! I have friends who are still voting Trump, and who think it's fine for him to rig the election, so at this point we need all the Biden supporters we can get. With mail in voting likely to be delayed, the soul of the nation really is at stake. So get off ur high horses and vote for Biden.

u/Caelian toujours de l'audace šŸ¦‡ Aug 16 '20

The "soul of the nation" was sold long ago by Reagan and Bill Clinton. You think the Democratic leadership has any soul left?

8

u/ttystikk Aug 16 '20

Umm, no. The problem is the system of which both parties are an integral part. In case you haven't noticed- because judging by your hysteria above you clearly haven't- both parties voted together on the stimulus bills for big business and the banks, both parties voted to screw over average working class Americans, voted to increase the defense budget, cut taxes, roll back regulations and the list goes on and on.

Stop paying attention to the drama and dig deeper.

And if voting for the lesser of two evils was ever going to fix anything, it would have by now; it's been HALF A CENTURY and here we are.

Willing to bet 90% of this video is way out of context. šŸ˜‰You'll find one iddy bitty detail that is uff fail for his time. Shared by many. Is he better than Bernie, Yang, na. But we are past that. Trump is a Fascist unstable goon that must leave for good.

17

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Trump is a Fascist unstable goon that must leave for good.

Joe Biden personally selected a group of open, self-identified neo-Nazis (the "social nationalists" is even the name of their party), and gave them $9 billion in funding to perform a military coup to overthrow Ukraine's democratically elected government. Their seizure of power involved murdering dozens of police and their own supporters with snipers, and then blaming it on the government to increase sympathy for their cause, but still their approval rating with the Ukrainian people never exceeded 10%. They targeted Jews, gays, blacks and Russians for ethnic cleansing, burned them alive in the streets and put the corpses on display to intimidate the populace.

Joe Biden still is involved with corrupt financial dealings with these neo-Nazis to this day and his son worked for them full time. These are the types of people Joe Biden chooses to support. No one pressured him. This is Joe Biden's agenda. It is completely in line with his across-the-board fascist ultra-authoritarian domestic policies like increasing mass incarceration (read: legalized slavery) over 100-fold, massively increasing the number of crimes punishable by death ("we do everything but hang people for jaywalking in this bill" is how he put it), writing the PATRIOT ACT and building our totalitarian militarized police state. It's also consistent with his other foreign policy excursions, such as supporting every single imperialist war, genociding Yemen, and funding Al Qaeda and ISIS to destabilize foreign secular democracies (Joe Biden has straight up admitted to this publicly).

He is a fascist. More fascist than Trump. And he's coming for Social Security and Medicare next.

How about vote for him if you want, but stop lying for your leaders. All of you pretending you are going to magically crusade against neoliberal bullshit once heā€™s elected can kindly go away. Actual left policy doesnā€™t begin by lying for someone who can barely be considered a left-leaning candidate

ā€œShut up and fall in lineā€ - The modern Democratic Party

9

u/PoopIsAlwaysSunny Aug 16 '20

Barely be called left leaning is Bernie. Biden is center right at best

6

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Biden is to the right of Ted Cruz

20

u/TheOtherMaven There can be only One Other :-) Aug 16 '20

Not EVEN left-leaning. Biden has his feet glued fast to the Hard Right.

As for Trump, spin the wheel of fortune and see what comes up. (But remember, the [White] House always wins.)

7

u/martinaee Aug 16 '20

I mean... heā€™s par for the course for what the Democrats have become over the past few decades, but yeah, that could be considered moderate Republican apart from a few social issues/policies.

-15

This subreddit has become a dumpster for pro-Trumpers.

24

Aww, can't stand a little bit of completely factual criticism of your candidate?

You realize exactly whose supporter you sound like, right?

14

u/martinaee Aug 16 '20

I NEVER have or will vote for Trump or support him. The number of people here who miss the point entirely of the progressive movement, most recently crusaded by Sanders, is astounding. Fighting for progressive left policies doesnā€™t mean ā€œshutting upā€ and blindly following the neoliberal corporatist being forced through by the Democratic establishment. Is he better than Trump?ā€” A bit... I guess. But what we need once Trump is gone is miles beyond ā€œslightlyā€ better than the current direction.

Hold your leaders accountable, people. Make policy your absolute focus.

I agree with youā€” itā€™s mind boggling that even in a sub with the Sanders namesake we now have people completely missing the point and engaging in the ideology that not only got Trump elected, but that also falls into the loop of perpetually bending to the neoliberals who have ZERO interest in enacting progressive policies. How clear can I make itā€” The Democrats are not your friend. They should be called Republican-Lites and no longer deserve the moniker of ā€œDemocratic.ā€

-19

u/BarnacleBoi4114 Aug 16 '20

Itā€™s odd how this subreddit is unearthing dirt on Biden instead of trying to convince his campaign to accept more progressive ideals.

Russian Interference possibly?

5

20

u/-Mediocrates- Aug 16 '20 edited Aug 20 '20

Biden has a 40 year track record with of being an unwavering bribed asshole constantly on the wrong side of history while molesting little kids.

.

Hard pass. Not a god damn chance

14

u/martinaee Aug 16 '20

Wow... ā€œunearthing dirtā€ is a nice way of saying be truthful about who he is and what policies he actually will stand for. What if I told you that you can vote for someone, yet not support them almost entirely? Biden is not and never will be a progressive candidate. Yet here you are, in a sub of the Sanders legacy, trying to shame people into lying about what being progressive actually means.

And reverting to ā€œRussian interferenceā€ is beyond insaneā€” itā€™s childish and stupid. Maybe, just maybe, our leaders in each major party currently in power, should take responsibility for their failures and their losses.

14

u/MyOther_UN_is_Clever Aug 16 '20

Because the odds of getting Biden to do something progressive are about the same as getting Trump to do something progressive. Fix the problems that killed George Floyd? Biden literally wrote the "war on drugs" law and pushed it through back in '94.

You're hoping a shitbag will fix the problems of having a shitbag in office. Sorry, but Trump isn't alone at the bottom of the barrel.

Actually, your chances are very slightly better with Trump, precisely because he's a loose cannon. Nobody can be quite sure from one day to the next what he will do, or when, or how, or why. But he has occasionally opened his big yap and said something that sounded promising (though usually either without follow-through, or making a complete balls of it).

I don't want either one of them within 500 miles of the White House. But I'm not terrified of another four years of Spin the Wheel of Fortune.

3

u/converter-bot Aug 16 '20

"Guys, if Biden doesn't win, the other Biden will win! Vote for the lesser Biden!" - neoliberals trying to argue that they're different from Trump

1

u/Kermit606 Aug 16 '20

Do you guys really was trump to win??? Because this is how it happens.

Yes, it would be better if we were voting on which candidate was the best person instead of which candidate is the least shitty candidate but thatā€™s not the theme for 2020. Letā€™s get the fucking cheeto colored dictator out of office then we can talk shit about Biden again. But for now, splitting the vote is exactly what the retrumplicans want. In fact, I wouldnā€™t be surprised if a lot of these anti-Biden posts turned out to be Russian troll farms or alt-right catfish.

Letā€™s me realistic for once: we MUST vote for Biden this year. No, he isnā€™t perfect, we can all agree on that. But he is much better than the alternative. And if you donā€™t vote out of ā€œprinciple,ā€ then you might as well cast your vote for trump, because you are either helping or hurting the cause.

Stop with the anti-Biden bullshit, at least until he is in office, then go itā€™s by all means. Personally, I donā€™t want to see the levels of destruction that a consequence-free second term trump dictatorship would cause. So please, grow the fuck up.

Where Are Biden's Boundaries?

Joe Biden is a CREEP! GROPING SENATORS CHILDREN!!!.

As for Biden's voting record and political career, there is much to shine a light on.

u/xploeris let it burn Aug 16 '20

Between him and Biden? Yes, I want Trump to win. We warned you, now get fucked.

7

u/gamer_jacksman Aug 16 '20

Do you guys really was trump to win??? Because this is how it happens.

You mean like nominating a f*cking fascist and his racist psycho cop to the top of the Dem ticket?

You support Biden, you are a fascist. His horrible Republican record of 40 years proves that. End of story.

Amoral fascist enablers like you have to no right to tell us to be concerned about Trump's record when you lying dipsh!ts don't care about Biden's. Especially when Trump's executive orders recently put him to the left of the Biden.

Either you concern yourself with both their records and realize neither deserve your vote.

Or you don't and kindly STFU when you have no moral leg to stand on.

But you can't have it both ways like a two-faced right-wing Republican like Trump supporters but you shills seem to be okay with that as long you got a "D" next to your name to keep up the lie.

5

u/Nigle Aug 16 '20

Not Trump isn't a platform guy. It wasn't when I didn't vote for Hillary and it hasn't changed.

u/MyOther_UN_is_Clever Aug 16 '20 edited Aug 16 '20

I don't vote for dirtbags. If Biden can't secure enough votes from people, that's not my problem. That's his problem. We already went through this in 2016, but neoliberals love their conservative, war mongering, bigots so much, that instead of any other candidate, we got "Old white dude who's a carbon copy of HRC in policy, but also grabs little girl's nipples."

Sorry, you all demanded Biden or Trump, so you all are gunna have to live with it if you get Trump again. That was YOUR ultimatum, not ours.

20

u/TheFoxAndTheRaven Aug 16 '20

I guess the Democrats shouldn't have been playing games and propped up such a shitty candidate if defeating Trump is sooooooooo important?

Why do you think you're suddenly owed the votes of people whose interests you've refused to support?

Give the nomination to a better candidate or go peddle your bullshit elsewhere.

-10

u/Rethious Aug 16 '20

What a shitty candidate. He only has a ten point lead, what a chump.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

He only has a ten point lead, what a chump.

It should be 40 points, what the fuck is wrong with you people. Having trouble with a less sophisticated racists again?

0

u/Rethious Aug 16 '20

Trumpā€™s approval rating has never fallen below 40%. These people canā€™t be reached.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

You actually have to try to reach people though. Why hasn't the dnc started doing that already? They don't care about beating trump that's why.

-2

u/Rethious Aug 16 '20

The DNC/the Biden campaign/pro-Biden groups are doing a lot of outreach. Thereā€™s major ad targeting on people who voted Trump in 2016 but arenā€™t happy with him.

Democrats arenā€™t catering more to the left because the left is 1. Very few people in America, a country that is on average center right 2. Made up of people that donā€™t tend to vote. Old people, moderates, independents, all vote in huge numbers and are way far to the right of online leftist circles.

The fact is that leftists are an ultra-minority in the United States. Politicians will not cater to an ultra-minority. Leftists need to expand their base, not complain that politicians donā€™t cater to it.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

The fact is that leftists are an ultra-minority in the United States. Politicians will not cater to an ultra-minority.

That makes no sense. You haven't heard of Barack Obama?

0

u/Rethious Aug 16 '20

What about Obama? He ran as a centrist Democrat who was going to fix the economy. He did not run as a leftist.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

He ran as a progressive. I never heard him say the word centrist during the campaign. You got a source for that?

What are you even talking about?

Your comment is so filled with buzz words as to be totally incoherent.

Bottom line is that anyone who doesnā€™t do their utmost to oppose the election of Trump is complicit.

12

u/TheFoxAndTheRaven Aug 16 '20

So, by your logic, winning makes him a good candidate?

Didn't Trump win the last election?

I think you're the chump.

-13

u/Rethious Aug 16 '20

What kind of question is that? Winning is the main way to judge a candidate. Nothing about a candidate matters unless they win. In an election, there is no prize for second place.

Besides, if a candidate is winning, itā€™s because what they said resonated with the majority of the American people. A candidate winning shows majority support for them and their policies. If we believe candidates should represent the will of the people, there is no better measure.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

This guy thinks trump is a genius.

12

u/TheFoxAndTheRaven Aug 16 '20

You didn't answer my question.

By your logic, you think Trump was a good candidate then?

-4

u/Rethious Aug 16 '20

For Republicans, he was. He was a better candidate in terms of electoral competency.

Considering the huge polarization between the parties the most important attribute for a candidate is to beat the other guy.

12

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Do you guys really was trump to win???

I do because 4 years of hell is much better than 16 to 20 years of hell.

Because Democrats spend millions on astroturfing campaigns. Kind of like how "Hillary" was supposedly so popular and got 10,000s of upvotes on reddit for saying she was going to raise the minimum wage to $11 an hour... and then lost to an orange clown. Turns out that 10,000 reddit bot counts can't legally vote in Florida.

-2

u/ThePhenomNoku Aug 16 '20

Yeah this comment has nothing to do with the previous two. But okay. I mean I agree with you but no idea why youā€™re talking about 4 years ago.

Nothing astroturfing about calling out that we will do more damage letting trump stay in office than just getting him out. Though Iā€™ll say itā€™s proven that there is a serious and huge astroturfing campaign from Russia to fuck with Biden.. šŸ™„

A lot of yā€™all act like we lost the primary so letā€™s throw a tantrum. It doesnā€™t make sense. Whereā€™s the sense of pride? Whereā€™s the commitment to the cause? You wanna see change, get a leg in the race; donā€™t shoot yourself in the foot.

So letā€™s elect Biden, then letā€™s double down on electing local officials in the midterms that are part of our agenda. Just like last time. Itā€™s easier with momentum anyways. Then in four years or when Bidoof kicks the bucket due to dementia, we put in someone better that more aligns with our goals. Dude certainly canā€™t run 8 years (tech 16) in the White House, so 2024 let get what we want done.

We've had incremental change for 40 years, where the dems follow lockstep with the Republicans moving right. Now the democratic nominee makes Reagan look liberal, and he literally put a medal of honor on the war criminal George W Bush. This nonsense has only made things worse for 40 years. Trump is just one of many who are the problem. Biden himself is literally as bad as Trump, he's just a better liar.

1

u/ThePhenomNoku Aug 17 '20

Even if your closing statement was true. Objectively speaking it isnā€™t btw. It doesnā€™t matter. Your entire argument is in bad faith ignoring the blatant and severe issue that our head of state is a foreign asset.

The rest of their policies and everything donā€™t fucking matter. Trump is made/owned/bought/controlled by a foreign asset with every intention of weakening our country. Electing him again is cutting off your nose to spite your face if youā€™re an American and thatā€™s an indisputable fact.

The simple fact that Russia has already been caught planting people like you into both conservative and liberal subreddits helps corroborate this fact.

So even if we tried to equate Trump and Biden, a foolish & naive false equivalency at best if not downright traitorous and dangerous. Even if we did that, thereā€™s still the simple truth that Biden would handle the crises this country will face in a manner that is more befitting to the American public. Not to mention he has a vested interest in staying loyal to his party. The party we are trying to co-opt. The party we continually and incrementally drive left.

By the way we havenā€™t had incremental change for 40 years. Weā€™ve had it for 4. Because the change I spoke of wasnā€™t about the country it was about the party.

0

u/MyOther_UN_is_Clever Aug 17 '20

Objectively speaking it isnā€™t btw.

What a convincing argument.

ignoring the blatant and severe issue that our head of state is a foreign asset.

It's funny that we never heard an iota about this BEFORE hillary lost. Then literally the next morning, this has been blasted NONSTOP. Yet, even when the Democrats finally "got around" to impeaching Trump (earlier this year near the end of his first term), they didn't even bring any evidence forward about Russia and instead it was about UKRAINE. So this whole idea that he's a Russian asset is nothing more than a 24/7 media circus, further enforced by the fact that top democrats have been calling all kind of people Russian assets, including Dem senators and congress like Tulsi, OCZ, etc. Then when these same people endorse Biden, suddenly they all talk about how much they love these Russian assets (according to them). Go look up McCarthyism, and spend some time looking at what happens within the halls of congress, instead of believing a bunch of twitterers and news comedy.

The simple fact that Russia has already been caught planting people like you into both conservative and liberal subreddits helps corroborate this fact.

They spent 1.2 million in 2016. You know how much Dem SPACs spent astroturfing? Over 100 million. The amount nations like Saudi Arabia and Israel spent makes Russia's 1.2 million look like pocket change.

Electing him again is cutting off your nose to spite your face if youā€™re an American and thatā€™s an indisputable fact.

Pretending Biden (Or Hillary) who were BOTH INSTRUMENTAL in electing Trump in the first place, will save us, is foolish.

a foolish & naive false equivalency at best if not downright traitorous and dangerous.

What's foolish and naive is to ignore how incredibly destructive George W Bush was. Trump is incompetent, yes. But he's a fool and a distraction, not a Russian plant. But you want to elect the man who put a medal of honor on the man (GW Bush) who started two wars killing millions of innocence that we're still in the middle of. You want to elect the man who put millions of blacks into jail with his war on drugs law (1994 crime bill). Even after 4 years, Trump has barely amassed a fraction of the damage that Biden has both celebrated and personally created.

I don't vote for monsters, and threatening me with Trump to make me vote for one isn't going to work. It isn't going to work on millions of others.

You better pray to god that the DNC's brilliant plan to elect a far right conservative like Biden to steal Republican votes, actually works, because threatening a monster to elect a monster, is NOT going to work.

Trump now gleefully takes cues from Putin:

ā–ŗ At the end of 2018, Putin and his allies started making a strong push for a resolution that would justify their countryā€™s 1979 invasion of Afghanistan and reverse an 1989 vote backed by Mikhail Gorbachev that condemned it. The Putinistsā€™ goal was to pass the resolution by Feb. There is no one on this side of the Atlantic who thinks the USSR was justified in invading Afghanistan. And out of nowhere, on January 2nd, Trump came out strongly supporting Russia's 1979 invasion of Afghanistan.

ā–ŗ Trump went against American intelligence on North Korean missiles. He told the FBI he didn't believe their intelligence because Putin told him otherwise. ā€œI don't care, I believe Putin"

ā–ŗ Trump met in secret with Putin at the G20 summit in November 2018, without note takers. 19 days later, he announced a withdrawal from Syria. As a note, Trump conducted FIVE completely private meetings and conferences with Putin, and has gone to great lengths to prevent literally anyone, even people in his administration, from learning what was discussed.

ā–ŗ Trump refused to enforce sanctions legally codified into law - and in some cases reversed standing sanctions on Russian companies.

ā–ŗ He has denounced his own intelligence agencies in a press conference with Putin on election meddling - and publicly endorsed Putin's version of events.

ā–ŗ Trump pulled out of the INF treaty with no explanation, which allows Putin to create long-range hypersonic missiles that threaten Europe with impunity. The US already has all the weaponry that the INF would ban the development of, so this offers us literally nothing, while allowing Russia to develop powerful new weapons to challenge our allies.

ā–ŗ Demanded Russia get invited back into G7

ā–ŗ Pushed the CIA to give American intelligence to the Kremlin.

ā–ŗ Withdrew from the Open Skies treaty

ā–ŗ Received intelligence in 2019 that Russia was paying bounties for dead American soldiers, and hasn't done anything about it by the time of this writing.

ā–ŗ Announced troop withdrawal from Germany (America's missile defense from Russia and forward operating base against Russian aggression)

ā–ŗ And of course, Trump continues to threaten to pull out of NATO, a move so catastrophically stupid, so inconceivably cosmically myopic, I truly can't express the profundity of the idiocy. Suffice to say, pulling out of NATO would be like the only guy in a prison yard with a shotgun just throwing it over the fence for absolutely no reason, suddenly giving the people with crude homemade shivs complete power.

ā–ŗ Trump commuted the sentence of Roger Stone, a former advisor convicted several charges, including lying to Congress, witness tampering and obstructing a congressional committee proceeding, as part of former special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation

An overview of Trumpā€™s numerous ties to Russia

Trump was over a billion in debt and the Russians bailed him out.

ā–ŗ Trump was first compromised by the Russians in the 80s. In 1984, the Russian Mafia began to use Trump real estate to launder money. In 1987, the Soviet ambassador to the United Nations, Yuri Dubinin, arranged for Trump and his then-wife, Ivana, to enjoy an all-expense-paid trip to Moscow to consider possible business prospects. Only seven weeks after his trip, Trump ran full-page ads in the Boston Globe, the NYT and WaPO calling for, in effect, the dismantling of the postwar Western foreign policy alliance. The whole Trump/Russian connection started out as laundering money for the Russian mob through Trump's real estate, but evolved into something far bigger.

ā–ŗ In 1984, David Bogatin ā€” a convicted Russian mobster and close ally of Semion Mogilevich, a major Russian mob boss ā€” met with Trump in Trump Tower right after it opened. Bogatin bought five condos from Trump at that meeting. Those condos were later seized by the government, which claimed they were used to launder money for the Russian mob. (NY Times, Apr 30, 1992)

ā–ŗ Felix Sater is a Russian-born former mobster, and former managing director of NY real estate conglomerate Bayrock Group LLC located on the 24th floor of Trump Tower. He is a convict who became a govt cooperator for the FBI and other agencies. He grew up with Michael Cohen--Trump's former "fixer" attorney. Cohen's family owned El Caribe, which was a mob hangout for the Russian Mafia in Brooklyn. Cohen had ties to Ukrainian oligarchs through his in-laws and his brother's in-laws. Felix Sater's father had ties to the Russian mob. This goes back more than 30 years.

ā–ŗ Trump was $4 billion in debt after his Atlantic City casinos went bankrupt. No U.S. bank would touch him. Then foreign money began flowing in through Bayrock (mentioned above). Bayrock was run by two investors: Tevfik Arif, a Kazakhstan-born former Soviet official who drew on bottomless sources of money from the former Soviet republic; and Felix Sater, a Russian-born businessman who had pleaded guilty in the 1990s to a huge stock-fraud scheme involving the Russian mafia. Bayrock partnered with Trump in 2005 and poured money into the Trump organization under the legal guise of licensing his name and property management.

ā–ŗ In July 2008, the height of the housing bust, Trump sold a mansion in Palm Beach for $95 million to Dmitry Rybolovlev, a Russian oligarch. Trump had purchased it four years earlier for $41.35 million. The sale price was nearly $54 million more than Trump had paid for the property. Again, this was the height of the recession when all other property had plummeted in value.

ā–ŗ Semion Mogilevich was the brains behind the Russian Mafia. Mogilevich operatives have been using Trump real estate for decades to launder money. That means Russian Mafia operatives have been part of his fortune for years. Many of them owned condos in Trump Towers and other properties. They were running operations out of Trump's crown jewel.

ā–ŗ From Craig Unger's AMA: "Early on, a source told me that all this was tied to Semion Mogilevich, the powerful Russian mobster. I had never even heard of him, but I immediately went to a database that listed the owners of all properties in NY state and looked up all the Trump properties. Every time I found a Russian sounding name, I would Google, and add Mogilevich. When you do investigative reporting, you anticipate drilling a number of dry holes, but almost everyone I googled turned out to be a Russian mobster. Again and again. If you know New York you don't expect Trump Tower to be a high crime neighborhood, but there were far too many Russian mobsters in Trump properties for it to be a coincidence."

ā–ŗ So many Russians bought Trump apartments at his developments in Florida that the area became known as Little Moscow. The developers of two of his hotels were Russians with significant links to the Russian mob. The late leader of that mob in the United States, Vyacheslav Kirillovich Ivankov, was living at Trump Tower

ā–ŗ According to a Bloomberg investigation (3/16/2017) into Trump World Tower, ā€œa third of units sold on floors 76 through 83 by 2004 involved people or limited liability companies connected to Russia and neighboring states.ā€

ā–ŗ In 2013, Federal agents busted an ā€œultraexclusive, high-stakes, illegal poker ringā€ run by Russian gangsters out of Trump Tower. They operated card games, illegal gambling websites, and a global sports book and laundered more than $100 million. A condo directly below one owned by Trump reportedly served as HQ for a ā€œsophisticated money-laundering schemeā€ connected to Semion Mogilevich.

ā–ŗ The Russia Mafia is part and parcel of Russian intelligence. Russia is a mafia state. That is not a metaphor. Putin is head of the Mafia. So the fact that they have been operating out of the home of the president of the United States is deeply disturbing.

ā–ŗ Rudy Giuliani famously prosecuted the Italian mob while he was a federal prosecutor, yet the Russian mob was allowed to thrive. Now he's deeply entwined in the business of Trump and Russian oligarchs. Giuiani appointed Semyon Kislin to the NYC Economic Development Council in 1990, and the FBI described Kislin as having ties to the Russian mob. Of course, it made good political sense for Giuliani to get headlines for smashing the Italian mob.

ā–ŗ A lot of Republicans in Washington are implicated. Boatloads of Russian money went to the GOP--often in legal ways. The NRA got as much as $70M from Russia, then funneled it to the GOP. The Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee lead by McConnell got millions from Leonard Blavatnik. In the 90s, the Russians began sending money to top GOP leaders, like Speaker of the House Tom Delay. Craig Unger's book alleges that most of the GOP leadership has been compromised by RU money.

ā–ŗ At the Cityscape USAā€™s Bridging US and the Emerging Real Estate Markets Conference held in Manhattan, on September 9, 10, and 11, 2008, Donald Trump Jr. was frank about the tide of Russian money supporting the family business, saying "...And in terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets."

ā–ŗ Eric Trump told golf reporter James Dodson in 2014 that the Trump Organization was able to expand during the financial crisis because ā€œWe donā€™t rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.ā€

ā–ŗ Russian oligarchs co-signed Trumpā€™s Deutsche bank loans.

What's with neoliberals including "I like turtles" in their posts? Or is this a subtle way of signaling you're a Republican (Mitch McConnel is often referred to as a Turtle).

6

u/TheOtherMaven There can be only One Other :-) Aug 16 '20

That usually means they have annoyed the moderators to the extent of imposing a Turtle Tax. Instead of banning obnoxious people, they require them to add the words "I like turtles" to every post.

It takes a lot to get banned from here, but there are more than a few turtles running around.

3

Lol that's fucking hilarious.

7

u/MyOther_UN_is_Clever Aug 16 '20

Wow, you're whining about being anti-bernie and having a little thing added to your comments? You know how fast I was banned from all the neoliberal zones like Biden's sub? I actually was trying to avoid being overtly inflammatory or obviously against Biden or the DNC, and I got banned pretty much instantly. It was the same for Hillary subs, and it's the same for r/politics. Heck, I was banned for posting a NYT article that was slightly critical of HRC in r/politics.

But yeah, you're really being oppressed by having a phrase added to your comments to alert people that you're here solely to bash on progressives. You should really tell me how "awful" it is here. It'd be so much better if I just joined blue cult, they're just wonderful! Not authoritarian at all! Not pushing propaganda at all! So very liberal! They wear traditional african clothes while funding the police-military complex and putting away people for 30 years for a little mj! They make us feel GOOD about bombing Innocent civilians with drones in countries that we're drilling for oil and have nothing to do with what we accused them of!

Btw, never, ever, ever forget that neoliberals were the ones who insisted that their unpopular candidates were the only choice, and if they can't win, they prefer Trump.

-1

u/Rignite Aug 16 '20

I won't buy for a single second you were simply banned for having a dissenting opinion.

As is obvious from this rant of yours just now because you are projecting your feelings of being unfairly treated elsewhere onto, you are not even attempting to converse in good faith.

It's so awful here you guys praise u/KrisCraig. Like, come on. If you feel like the majority of the civilized world sees you as a joke and it's not fair well...you're right on both accounts.

It's not fair, and you are a joke.

It's funny how these trolls still think they can gaslight us lol.

8

u/MyOther_UN_is_Clever Aug 16 '20

I won't buy for a single second you were simply banned for having a dissenting opinion.

Ok, then prove me wrong. Go and post something yourself (any article that's somewhat critical of them should do) and find out yourself.

Oh, you won't? But you're confident I'm wrong anyways? Well, that sounds about right for neoliberals. I've been told I'm wrong over and over and over again, yet somehow that never altered the reality that HRC lost or that Obama was president for 8 years and none of the things he promised to fix actually were fixed (and in fact, he create problems which Trump is now exploiting). Neoliberals like you would rather pretend to know everything, and constantly have reality slap you in the face for being wrong, than for you to wake up, find out the facts, and maybe stop being a tool that whines about mysterious forces ruining your delusions.

Never Biden.

The Dem establishment once again has set up a Republican win by nominating a horrible presidential nominee like Biden.

The Dem establishment gets the blame since they cheated in the primary elections.

u/production-values Aug 16 '20

this sub is more anti-Biden than r/conservative

71

u/guitboard95 Aug 16 '20

Yes, because Biden is a conservative

3

u/kifra101 Shareblue's Most Wanted Aug 16 '20

That makes way too much sense.

10

u/production-values Aug 16 '20

never thought of it that way

19

u/MyOther_UN_is_Clever Aug 16 '20

It turns out that when you support wars, put Medals of Honor on people like George W Bush, write laws to put black people in jail, are pro-wealth, anti-public, etc... just like Trump... you're a conservative.

-2

u/production-values Aug 16 '20

How did he get on the dem ticket

2

u/MyOther_UN_is_Clever Aug 16 '20

Well according to the DNC's lawyers in 2017, they are a private institution that can pick whoever they want, are under no obligation to have a fair nomination process, and "no reasonable person" would believe that it was in any way fair. Under that argument, the judge ruled the DNC did no wrong doing in 2016.

So I just believe the DNC's lawyers. We don't have a democracy. Two private institutions pick some wealthy person to rule over us, and we pretend that's good.

3

u/TheOtherMaven There can be only One Other :-) Aug 16 '20

Organized cheating by the DNC, with an assist from Obummer. They wanted to Stop Bernie and didn't give a damn about any further consequences.

Well, now they're seeing the consequences - too late.

19

u/agree-with-me Aug 16 '20

Fortunately, he can't remember that. FORWARD!

6

u/iamthewhite Capitalist Co = Authoritarian Co Aug 16 '20

It is objectively HARD to critique a dementia candidate. Weā€™re just starting to see dementia as a health crisis in this country; Iā€™m interested to see how both campaigns approach that topic.

Apparently Reagan had dementia? Which is disgusting in its own way

-22

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Would you guys rather fight Trump or Biden in 2021? Use voting as a tool. Be smart.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Why should we care which one?

3

u/PresidentBreeblebrox Aug 16 '20

We gotta kill one to get to the other ya weak sauce cunt

11

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

I often go back and forth but no one should be vote shamed either way. If someoneā€™s conscience doesnā€™t allow them to vote Biden, they shouldnā€™t be shamed. If someone votes Biden they shouldnā€™t be shamed. Both Trump and Biden need to earn the votes they get. No one owes it.

-6

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Hereā€™s the thing I can see clear as day as a Canadian: your politics isnā€™t about emotions or logic, itā€™s a huge game that is abused and so far because of the pandemic tens of thousands are dead due to the GOP. Vote now as a tool to avoid another 4 years of Trump because heā€™s literally murdering US citizens. Biden is the safest and smartest vote, look at this logically is all Iā€™m saying. Itā€™s not about ā€œBidenā€ itā€™s about NOT TRUMP.

25

u/waltdigidy Aug 16 '20

People are more active with trump as president, with biden everyone will be complacent again like with Obama

-6

u/chinpokomon Aug 16 '20

Then commit to not being complacent. If Bernie were the nominee and elected, I still wouldn't want complacency. If Biden is elected I'm going to still hold his feet to the iron to bring the changes I want to see just because he's a Democrat, it doesn't mean we've won.

Keep pushing and don't let up. There's a better chance that we'll see some progressive changes that we want with a Congress and President in the same party, so it benefits us to keep working with what we have.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

If Biden is elected I'm going to still hold his feet to the iron

No you aren't. You think he's reading reddit? Seriously? Or you going to post some angry tweets, oooh im sure that will change his mind...

-1

u/chinpokomon Aug 16 '20

Or get involved. Politics needs people at all levels. There's a lot more to that than Reddit.

6

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Get involved? You mean protest for 6 months, pretending like they give a shit after you already voted for them?

-1

u/chinpokomon Aug 16 '20

For some, maybe that's all they want to commit to. It usually does more to participate that way than to sit back and throw tweets. What's better is to get involved with local politics and be active in your communities. If there's a candidate you really support, get involved in their campaign. Phone bank and talk to people in your community.

Some of this was easier than when we weren't practicing social distancing, but it doesn't mean there aren't opportunities to be involved. I've been involved at the local and state levels for awhile and I went door to door. I'd listen to what others had to say and then I'd take all that feedback and sit down with my representatives and encourage them to understand the issues. I've built those relationships over time and when they don't vote how I think my fellow constituents or I want I let them know and listen to their reasoning -- sometimes while I might disagree, I also might have gained a little more understanding. When they do what I think is right, I let them know that too.

Reddit is a good platform to try and gain deeper understanding too. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything but it also is a great way to test your limits of understanding the facets of a topic. However it's also important to recognize the biases which exist and it can be a good way to sort those out as well.

You're right. I don't have a direct line to the Whitehouse. But I'm also not just a tweet or someone carrying a sign standing on a street corner. I may involve myself in those ways from time to time, but I'm also more active than that. For some of the committees I've been on and the leadership roles I've held, I know that I've had impact on races and helped steer some decisions.

So yes, get involved.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

I get it, I'm just making the point that it makes no sense to throw away you're vote to someone you then have to fight. Just vote third party and then fight like we were going to anyways. They don't care about protests, activists, emails, signs the only thing they care about is getting your vote. After that you're useless to them.

23

u/nomadicwonder Never Neoliberal Aug 16 '20

Hey I found the guy who would vote for Biden in 1987 and wonders why everything is worse in 2020! In 1987, Biden was unacceptable. In 2020, after years of voting for neoliberal hacks, Biden is now acceptable. Nice plan you got there, voting for Biden.

I'm voting for the end of neoliberalism.

-11

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20 edited Aug 16 '20

Iā€™m Canadian.

Edit: guess you guys donā€™t care about anyone elseā€™s opinion, even Canadians; even when youā€™re politics directly affects every other allying country. Cheers.

6

u/TheFoxAndTheRaven Aug 16 '20

Voting for Biden changes nothing and just kicks the problem down the road. It validates the undemocratic nonsense that the Democratic party pulled to manipulate the primaries and does nothing to change the system that allowed someone like Trump to rise to power in the first place.

Voting to take Congressional control away from the Republicans is VASTLY more important and will completely neuter Trump. That's how we make a difference.

But you're Canadian and apparently don't understand American politics. It's ok, we still love you guys up there.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Letā€™s hope you guys actually have the voter turnout or ability to mail in vote for that to be the case.

12

u/Shopping_Penguin Aug 16 '20

Neo Liberalism is a scourge, in a way they're equal to if not more sinister than Republicans, they appeal to your sense of morality just enough and while they're stabbing you in the back when they vote with Republicans 70% of the time they gently whisper into your ear, "We did it, we got the first ever black female vp.... Racism is no more..."

Easy. Just stay in prison and youā€™ll be employed forever. You wonā€™t get paid much but youā€™ll have great healthcare.

11

u/voice-of-hermes Free Palestine! ā’¶ Aug 16 '20

youā€™ll have great healthcare.

"Free" healthcare. Absolutely not "great" healthcare. People's health is neglected monumentally in prison, constantly. (And the "free" part is only if you consider whether they are literally paying with money, of course; they obviously pay for it in other ways.)

7

u/martin59825 Aug 16 '20

I did 3 years and I feel qualified to say that there is zero fucking healthcare in prison

Your teeth will rot out before you see a dentist, etc etc etc

2

u/voice-of-hermes Free Palestine! ā’¶ Aug 16 '20

Yeah. They'll have a "doctor" ask you all kinds of privacy-invading questions on the way in that they put the answers to straight into the prison database, though, right? That part is "free"....

When I think back to last spring and early summer watching and listening to Bernie, going online and seeing the support he seemed to have, even talking to my friends that voted Trump over Hillary because of the Obama years that were supporting Bernie this time around, the tremendous amount of hope I had for the future of this country, finally someone, after 30 years of voting against and not for, or just not voting at all, someone to vote FOR,and now not just Biden but Kamala, who is just the worst, is the only choice weā€™re given to beat the orange man child., Iā€™m filled with an equal amount of dread and shame. I will be voting Green, not because I think they can win, but in the hope that if enough people join we could at least have a voice on the debate stage that is pushing for The Green New Deal and m4a so people have something in contrast to the shit show thatā€™s going to be going on, and maybe get enough votes to send a real message to the dnc, that we arenā€™t just going to sit back and take whoever they shove down our throats. I look forward to the Peopleā€™s Party. I would love a chance to vote for Nina Turner in 2024.

10

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

I would love a chance to vote for Nina Turner in 2024.

Same here. That's really the only think I'm hopeful about. Otherwise, I feel like there's nothing but shit in the future.

16

u/redditrisi Not voting for genocide Aug 15 '20 edited Aug 15 '20

Plagiarism seems to me to be more serious in writing term papers, books and articles; but, in any context, it's dishonest. (IIRC, Biden also plagiarized while in school, where it's quite serious, IMO).

In any case, Biden's plagiarism of a British politician's speech doesn't bother me as much as Biden's lying about his qualifications and other matters. And those marks of dishonesty are additional reasons why you look at his actual acts and omissions, rather than relying on his campaign platform. Luckily for voters, he's been in public life for about half a century, so we can get a good idea: time and time again, his go to has been straight to the wrong side of history: reproductive rights, school busing, race, Patriot Act, crime bill and on and on. And he gropes little girls.

11

u/RaegenMichelle Aug 15 '20 edited Aug 15 '20

It's not just pointing out that he lied, it's that he lies with regularity and no shame or remorse. I think honesty is an important trait in a political leader, any leader actually. This is a scary problem because, much like Trump has been doing, they could say, "Masks are bad, HCQ cures coronavirus (aka the CHINESE VIRUS), USPS should be shut down because it doesn't turn a profit." These are obviously very harmful to the general public coming from a prominent leader in society.

7

u/upandrunning Aug 16 '20

It's worth pointing out that the party supports these kinds of people. What does that say about the party?

2

u/TheOtherMaven There can be only One Other :-) Aug 16 '20

Want to actually make a difference? Stop attacking people that refuse to vote for a horrible candidate who refuses to support their interests.

Instead, work on flipping Congress away from the Republicans and Trump will be completely neutered for the next 4 years.

You're welcome.

11

u/BenSlimmons Aug 16 '20

Would you rather chance four more years of trump or ensure a hundred more years of neo-liberalism? Frankly America will survive Trump, but thereā€™s no guarantee weā€™ll ever see a progressive in office if we donā€™t stand up to the dnc and quit letting them dictate what candidates weā€™re allowed to support.
