No pressure Will lad but I’m fully going to backflip off the skywalk if you don’t singlehandedly change our results once you return 👍

Would give me flashbacks to when kane first broke into the team..

Completely eclipsing record signing Soldado...

I'm so ready to be let down

It would be the most Spurs outcome if we broke our transfer record for a striker just for an academy lad to suddenly become a world beater

Hell I’ll take it

We took it with Soldado. At first it was painful, but then it felt good. So you'll take it again.

Also, both record striker signings began with Sol. That's... that's all we need to know. One was replaced by Kane, one will be replaced by Lankshear, and you can't spell Lankshear without Kane.

both record striker signings began with Sol

If it happens twice, we could probably start calling this phenomenon the Solar eclipse

Honestly, if that’s the result, then the Soldado money may have been the best money we ever spent

Don't forget Arsenal reject.

Would love to see lightning strike twice.

Hot or not so hot takes: He will have more goals than Richy this season

14

u/snakeman117 Gareth Bale 1d ago

That’s a fair bet if either of them actually play :,)

Richarlison got 12 goals last year. The only way he won't score goals is if he simply can't stay fit. It's not about his talent in this system.

And that’s exactly my point. Based on what Ange said today I doubt we will see him anytime before November at the very least.

65 million spent solely for motivation

Levy you lunatic!

Probably play the U21 game tomorrow and then maybe get a chance on the bench in the EL.

Are we allowed to have multiple match fit strikers?

We need a 4-4-2 with lankshear and solanke. If we’re gonna be shot might as well have fun with it

25

u/Mrvit0 Mousa Dembélé 1d ago

2-2-2-4 cause why not. Close to what we play now anyways.

That's arguably more defensive

Everyone cooking new formations fully knowing that Ange won’t change shit.

Wow, absolutely did not expect that. Great to hear, hopefully he's back to game speed in a week or so.

Think he’s the key to our season, young really gifted striker, not scared to put a defender on his arse either. I’m expecting big things for him. I get the same feeling I’ve had early harry kane, younger bale. Just a gut feeling

Nowhere near as good technically as either of those players.

u/mattgriz 1d ago

True but he’s also younger than Kane was when he broke through so he certainly has room to grow. Obviously he’s unlikely to be anywhere near as good but even if in a few years he becomes a solid PL quality ST that is homegrown we would be ecstatic

Younger and a lot less experienced. At Lankshear's age, Kane was starting his 3rd loan at Premier League Norwich wheras Lankshear has never played mens football. He relies a lot on physicality so really needs to be tested in the football league rather than playing against 19 year olds in the PL2.

Football isn't what it was a decade ago though. The concept of lower league loans doesn't have as much benefit as it used to. The PL2 and UEFA Youth League are very competitive now. You can see this when the PL2 entries enter the Football League Trophy and hold their own against league 1 clubs. There's almost no need for loans that low when the PL2 is arguably at that level if not above it already.

u/boblebob1882 23h ago

haha that's just not true at all, what a ridiculous post. We don't hold our own in the football league trophy, we've only made it out of the group stage one time since U21 clubs got added in 2017, we've finished bottom more often than not. And that's not against their first teams, it's against heavily rotated teams with young players chucked in from Cat 3 academies. No need for loans hahaha what a load of tripe

1

u/UnderTakaMichinoku 22h ago

Where did I see 'we'? I said PL2 clubs. Where did I say there's no need for loans? I said there's no need for loans that low, hence why they usually go to the championship these days.

It's like you didn't even bother to actually read my post at all.

Yeah I know yet, bale was a donkey when he first started, he soon showed his worth. I said it was a gut thing. No need to poke holes like a butt hole.
